I ordered tulips on May 8th 2022 in person. It’s now April 2023. Countless calls, FB messages and still NOTHING about what happened to my order. Last communication I had, that was them reaching out to me, was when I got a call from them in mid/late October 2022 to confirm my address because there was an unspecified issue; was told they should be delivered before Thanksgiving (I should’ve asked which year)... I gave them two addresses, both have cameras on the property, neither received the package and no packages have been stolen or undelivered.
It has been a nightmare trying to get in contact with anyone here who knows ANYTHING. Always just someone who answers the phone that will “pass the message along” and “they’ll get back to [me].” I have given them receipt information, order numbers, whatever has been asked of me. I spoke with them about 1 week ago (this was the first time I was able to speak with a live person at this place since 2022) and the lady who answered said that they’ve gotten a lot of calls about missing orders from 2022 and she doesn’t know what happened or what is being done about it. So clearly an ongoing issue that this business is doing zilch to resolve. Extremely bad look to just ignore people for months or tell them you’ll get back to them “after the holidays.” Which holidays? Because there have been several over the last 6 months of call attempts.
Any good memories from this place are left in old photographs because trying to get my bulbs delivered has occupied ridiculous amounts of my free time and left a lasting bitter taste in my mouth.
If you go here, please beware and do not order anything for delivery even if you live close. I live in Chicago, so only about a 3-hour drive to this location, delivery shouldn’t be an issue. If you want to purchase something, do it in their shop. I should’ve read reviews.
I have waited a long time to write this review, because I was hoping that they’ll actually get back to me and...
Read moreThe Veldheer tulip farms, Delf factory and DeKlomp was a wonderful family visit on a beautiful afternoon. Be ready with your cameras and stay hydrated!
Make sure you're ready for some sun as it was very sunny the day we were there. The entry fee was $15 for adults and free for children under 2, they accepted credit cards and everyone at the counter were super warm. The tulips were beautiful and part of the farm was at perfect bloom but it is always tricky to find the perfect bloom day to visit unless you start nearby for the entire week. There are lot of trees planted in the farm such gives you good shade on a sunny day. Wear good shoes as the terrain can get bumpy and get muddy if it rains. We saw a decent number of visitors even on a thursday afternoon. If you're lucky you can see few Bisons grazing towards the right side of the farm and they are huge! The kids would love them. The windmills are the highlight and there are good spots to get photos of the windmills and tulips together. I wouldn't identify this as among the bigger tulip farms but it is good enough if you're visiting for some photos.
The Delf factory and DeKlomp was a welcome surprise as we were exiting. You get to see how they make the beautiful delft pieces. You get to do a customized wooden shoe with any name and year engraved for free other than the cost of the wooden shoe. They usually close at 6 so keep it in mind if you're visiting it later in the afternoon. You get so many things to gift or decorate your home and the staff were super warm. Overall a...
Read moreStopped in here on a clear but windy, cool day in early May. I thought the price of $12.00 per person was a bit high, but hey, this place takes a lot of work to maintain, I would imagine.
There are tulips everywhere you look, and many thousands of daffodils, plus other bulb flowers. If this place doesn't have what you want in a tulip or daffodil, it probably does not exist. The visual delight of this place is just beyond description. There also bits of antique farm machinery scattered around, and of course there is a wind mill for every visitor's favorite photo-op. Plus, we saw some bison on a nearby adjoining property.
A word of caution: There are no toilet facilities anywhere except in the main building, and it is a long walk back , so be forewarned. So be forewarned prior to beginning your wanderings.
We certainly enjoyed this place and would gladly the price again. Oh yeah, parking is free.
Photos cannot do this place justice. You gotta go see it for yourself.
Friendly staff, easy to find and safe for the ...
