This past Sunday (7/23/23) for my birthday we visited Top of the Rock and thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful golf cart tour and had an AMAZING sunset dinner at Osage, which was possibly the most outstanding meal we have ever had as a family. The views were breathtaking and the dinner service was top notch. We enjoyed our dining experience so much we have decided to make Osage a tradition at least once a summer! The ONLY damper of the entire 5 hour experience at Top of the Rock was when we were literally yelled at by an older security guard in the museum. It was terribly embarrassing and very inappropriate to be yelled at across a crowded room, by an employee of such a top-tier establishment. To add a bit of context, we have never been to Top of the Rock (except to see the outdoor Christmas lights this past December) and were unfamiliar with the facilities. I called several days in advance to check the tour times and had been advised that, “the last cart goes out at 7:00pm”. When I mentioned we had a dinner reservation at Osage at 8:45pm, I was told we would be able to visit the museum between our cart ride tour and our dinner reservation. Following the golf cart tour, as we were dropped off by the shuttle I asked about the museum and was directed toward the entrance. No mention was made that the museum was about to close. We saw people getting off the elevator just inside the entrance and so we got on the elevator to head down to the museum. When the elevator doors opened, there was a family leaving out (what we now know) was the museum exit. They held the door and we went inside. With tickets in hand, we started though the museum, unaware that it was closing/had just closed, as it was 7:06pm. When all of a sudden a security guard came charging towards us yelling , “YOU SNUCK IN THE BACK DOOR, AND YOU KNOW YOU DID!!! SHAME ON YOU FOR SNEAKING IN LIKE THAT!!! YOU NEED TO LEAVE RIGHT NOW!!!” He loudly repeated these same comments several times over as he herded me, my husband and daughter back out the door. We were very caught off guard, so stunned and humiliated by his aggressive demeanor and accusations that it took a moment before I collected myself enough to say, “We HAVE TICKETS! We did not know you were closed and we were not “sneaking in” without paying!” He then saw the printed vouchers in my hand and gruffly said, “Well, bring them back tomorrow!!” There is no reason an ambassador of your property should speak to a guest in such an aggressive, disrespectful manner. It was humiliating, and frankly startling to be addressed with such hostility. As it was my birthday, we collectively agreed to, “not allow that angry man to spoil our day.” We proceeded to the outdoor patio and toured the lovely chapel, enjoyed a cold beverage and were later delighted to see the beautiful sunset ceremony. As we felt it was an isolated, bad act by ONE employee, we still spent +$350 on an amazing dinner and thoroughly enjoyed every outstanding bite. In closing, please encourage your staff to “not immediately assume the worst” of your guests and offer a bit of grace instead of anger and...

The golf cart tour was so wonderful, as were the drinks from the Bat Bar and the younger girl working at the Welcome Center. However, my 3 stars are because of the unfortunate awful guest service we received from the other woman working at the Welcome Center. We purchased our tickets online, waited in line and were told we couldn’t redeem our tickets until 6 o’clock (it was 545 at the time). She gave no direction on where to get our drinks, just sent us away. In ten minutes time the line began to grow so we got back in line (which now consisted of over 25 people). Guests in line began asking the younger girl where her teammate went, she informed us that the other girl told her her shift ended at 6 and she was done. About 10-15 minutes went by , line had now grown almost out the doors, the younger girl called for help and the other woman came back and rudely called us over. She messed up our transaction, put our receipt in our bag and called for the next guest. We had never been there before so we went back out to get on the shuttle and then realized we were supposed to have gone out the other doors to get to the cart check in. Once in line, we realized we needed the receipt that she put in our bag that was now in our car. Several guests were chiming in about the lack of service from this particular employee. We were looking forward to the Buffalo Bar after our tour but decided against it after the poor service we received at the Welcome Center. Like I said, the tour itself was incredible , property is beautiful. We plan to vacation here again for the holidays with our children and might consider giving the tour another shot . We just wanted to make sure we passed on the information about our time. I do know the woman’s name but don’t want to post it so...

This review is mostly about the restaurant. Poor service, high priced foods, and long wait time. The menu had no variety/options to choose from. I think it’s more of a meat restaurant but man, at least have some more items to choose from. And the available items were way too overpriced. I would’ve ordered from the kids menu if I was allowed? Lol they only allow kids 12 and under to order from the menu so I guess adults aren’t allowed to order a decent priced meal. I was hoping the food to be a decent portion and for the price, to be the best food I’ve eaten, that was not the case. We waited at least an hour for our food and when we asked what was taking so long, our waiter said “there’s 300 people here, it’s peak season.” So I went to the bathroom 5 minutes later and walked in to a room full of empty tables. And when we did get our food the ceaser salad tasted like rotten fish, the mac and cheese was too cold to eat, the salmon was tiny af, and the crab cakes were too salty. The chicken strips were good though! Lol I ate from everybody’s plate to get my meals worth. I’m giving this 2 stars because the go cart tour we did was awesome and the views were amazing. Restaurant gets 0 stars if I could. Also no apologies for the long wait. Unapologetic for everything that happened. Only eat here if you want a good view. Sorry,...

Top of the Rock was a fun stop on our trip, but if we’re being honest it only deserves about 3.5 stars compared to the other courses we played (holding this course to the same standard). The setting itself is gorgeous, perched high with some really scenic views, and the pro shop was by far the best of all the properties—tons of great gear, a big selection, and an inviting atmosphere. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier and really made our group of 16 feel welcome, which we appreciated. That said, the actual golf side left a lot to be desired. The greens were in rough shape, there was construction going on around the property that took away from the experience, and not having a driving range felt like a big miss. Overall, it’s worth checking out for the views and the shop, but it just doesn’t stack up to the other courses big cedar has to offer when it comes to pure golf.

We went in a group of 8 people. Ages ranged from 8 weeks-80 years old, we all had a great time with the golf cart ride. We signed the waiver a few hours before our arrival time to expedite the check-in process which was super easy. The guys assisting with the carts were very friendly and helpful. 10/10 for the whole cart experience. The museum was very neat and tidy. The whole group took the shuttle, it was a short ride. The adults in our group enjoyed the items inside and could have easily spent the while day here just looking at everything, however the younger ones in our group got bored after a while and we rushed through the end of it. It was very nicely laid out and everything was labeled and informative. I would like to go back without the younger ones to get to read more of the information. Overall, we loved it and will plan to go back.
