Booked the night Cave Nature tour with the golf cart to see the Christmas lights. First we arrived and was told we had to pay $15 to park. Which doesn’t make a ton of sense bc once we got inside there was signs pointing in the direction of “free parking.” Then we get inside the Welcome Center that we finally find. Then go up to one of the ladies to check in. She said, “when your time comes just go up to them so they can scan your barcodes on your tickets in your email. But then never showed us where to go. We ended up going outside the front where we walked in and asked other patrons if they knew where we belonged for our tour. One pointed us on the side of the building. We went over there and then was told to go inside, through the door, and then back around the building. Then we got put in a golf cart that the speakers (music and info along the trail) did not work. But wr didn’t realize we hadn’t arrived to triggers to set off the music until we was about 1/10 of the way through when we heard the music on the carts surrounding ours. There was a phone number to call. We called it. They said they would bring a new cart. It took 34 minutes from the time we called for them to bring us a new cart. Even the new one they brought had the speakers mess go on the way per the comments from the worker. It was really frustrating bc we could have just walked back to the start had we knew they was going to take that long. It was a horrible experience waiting there while everyone was just driving by us shooting looks at us wondering what we was doing. Once we got a new cart the rest of the experience was better. Which is why I didn’t just give it a 1 star. I can’t sit and pretend that it’a not an amazing...
Read moreMy whole group and most of the people behind us were pretty upset. There was a group infornt of us that didn't give a s%$$ that you only park and take photo at parking areas. Take your photo for a few mins in your golf cart and move on. Don't get up and out and take a lot for photo, let the kids run around. Taking a the pathway. There should be workers in the area making sure this doesn't happen. There were about 9 carts stuck behind this family. At one point, I said loud enough if they stopped on more god damn time. After that there was a parking area a man came and told us we could pass them. Then, he had to make the cart in front move bc even though there were parking spots, they just stopped in front of us. After that, we were too afraid to park and see the sites in case we met up with those families again that we didn't get to really enjoy it. It was really beautiful. I'm sure some people will say way not enjoy sitting there. 1. We would be stuck in an area with no sites to see. 2. It was a hot day and we had a lolder people with us. 4. The rules before you start says to only get out at...
Read moreWe were dubious about this on our last trip to Branson because of the $10bfee to enter, but went all in this time.
On a Monday we arrived around 3:30 so we could explore the grounds and see the chapel. The chapel has a great view of the lake and is really a special place. In the main building, exploring the wine cellar was interesting and we looked in at the private dining area. We had dinner at Osage, which was magnificent and highly recommended. They have the same menu (I think) at the bar which also has a large patio. We stayed for the sunset ceremony to hear the bagpipes and cannon. Just a really special evening that I would do again.
We returned the next date and did the golf cart tour. It’s a little hokey since they’ve enhanced the natural features, but still worth doing. We did the combo tour which included the museum, which is one-of-a-kind and not to be missed.
It’s a special place up there and I’d...
