Experience Nutridge — Attraction in Honolulu

This was our first trip to the island and our first luau. After all the reviews and with what we wanted, we decided that nutridge was it. Amazing, beautiful , intimate, laid back , funny, welcoming . We Got it Right!!!

I mean, wow!!! Truly a gem !!! We laughed , and we felt so at home. The views are stunning , and the property smells like heaven. Vinny and Wioke( I know I totally botched that spelling, but he knows who he is ) are so charismatic. Their energy together and the humor they bring as a team is refreshing. Let's back up to the driver he was funny from the start. He pulled up and said, "Sky diving, right !!! He pointed out certain things as we made our drive up to the property. He took us up to the lookout and took a beautiful picture for us !! That's a nice little bonus. After finishing up with the lookout, we then went on to the luau. We have a small wait before entering . But let me tell you, these trees and the smell while you are waiting is out of this world. Moving on to the greeting from the crew!! The start of our hilarious, well paired EMC'S. It wasn't a big production, and they made light humor out of your typical luau. Everyone was hilarious, the drinks were yummy, and the performances were beautiful. This property alone is worth the money spent just to tour it briefly. The games were fun and kept the kids interested. We read so many reviews before our vacation on Luau's. Most reviews always made some reference that the food is average and sometimes barely even good, but that was pretty much the running theme for all Luau's. But let me tell you, that was not the case here. The food was great, and the prok was delicious. We have picky kids, and they could not resist the flavor that pork had . Everything about this show was perfect. The meal shared and how much passion the crew puts into the show is pretty amazing. I know it has to be hard to keep the material funny and to have the same repetitive show night after night, but they seemed to be genuinely happy to put smiles on everyone's faces. A special thanks for the feeling of ohana. This trip was special , and they had no idea what our family was going through or why we were traveling, but when they were doing their closing of the evening, everything they said hit home. We were the picture of indecision while trying to decide which luau to try. Some have said not to bother at all. Some have said we definitely have to try them at least once. Ultimately we landed on deciding to try them. Then came the hard part. With so many available it was difficult to choose one. We decided against Polynesian Cultural Center because it seemed far too commercialized and hundreds of people in a theatre sounds pretty awful. Decided against Diamond Head luau because partying behind an aquarium with minimal view seemed less than ideal.

At the last second, my girlfriend found Experience Nutridge. All of the reviews given were 5 stars. Price was comparable. Lives on what is basically a mountain/large hill.

I am so happy we settled on Experience Nutridge. All of the staff were ridiculously friendly and outgoing. There was a total group of 20 of us attending so it was very up close and personal. Had the opportunity to play some traditional games, crush a banana tree trunk, watch a few very well done Polynesian dances (including the haka and fire dancing), and learned quite a bit about Hawaiian culture and the location site in a reasonably short amount of time. All of this led to easily the 2 best parts of the night.

1. the buffet was to die for. Every item was absolutely fantastic. We were each taught to prep some sweet potatoes to cook in their underground oven at the beginning of the evening. We the buffet we got to eat them. Best sweet potato I've had. The kalua pork can't be described. That alone is worth the price of admission.

2. upon arrival we were each given 2 drink coupons. We ended up redeeming all 4 for the mai tais made by our very personable bartender Kai. As I was driving at the end of the night I had only 1, and my girlfriend had the last 3. Admittedly I hadn't had much to eat that day, but that one drink had a noticeable effect on me. The 3 drinks my girlfriend had resulted in a very noticeable effect. They are not shy about mixing their drinks quite strong.
