It's a nice trail, but you won't see any great lookouts. Sneakers worked fine. It was dry. I did a loop trail and also a hike to see the sunset and Honolulu panoramic views at Tantalus trail. They are close. On the trail you will see signs. Phone reception is good in this area. Highly recommend to do both trails. Don't worry about UV, the whole trail is in the shade. Not that many mosquito's, maybe because there was no rain and it was dry. On Monday I met only 8 people (on Tantalus there were many of course), so it was not as busy as Manoa falls for example. This trail is good for larger dogs but won't be a good option if you have a smaller dog.

It's an okay hike. Reminds me of Aiea Loop. The first half is kinda of a narrow, slightly muddy trek upwards. The second half is actually fun, with a wide path, exposed roots, and plenty of embedded stones for stepping. No view at the "peak." I recommend starting left at this loop, because it will mean going down, you will have the trees, roots, and stones to help you descend easily.

Really awesome trail connecting to an absolutely extensive trail network across the mountains. Sneakers are ok but be careful some areas can have sleep downhills if you go further or ground is wet. Weather systems can also be deceiving with great weather near Waikiki beach and then suddenly a heavy downpour in the mountain.

This was an excellent forest trail. Lots of canopy to cover you from the sun and the trail is very clear. Very healthy forest to enjoy the plant life of the islands. I recommend that once the trail forks off after the Nature center to take the left side first as I think it easier to climb up a muddy path than climb down. A large part of the trail is on the muddy side but the nature center has clean restrooms and a shoe cleaning station which was very convenient. Highly recommend as it...
