The employees are great, customer service is probably way up there, they're very friendly... you're probably guessing there's a "but..." here. You'd be right, it all seems great until you are trying to trade for something (we brought in Guitar Hero Live & Rock Band stuff which I spent over $200 on less than a year ago) & they only offer $12 in cash. Ha, I would almost rather have you laugh at me because I thought that offer was a joke. I get making a profit but we literally had 3 guitars, all the USBs, 2 GH games in perfect condition (one never even opened because someone gifted it to us not knowing we had already bought it), etc and all you offer is $12 😂. All the stuff we looked at was way over priced. One of the guitars we sent in was selling for $20 so these people are making a ~175% profit 😲. Then, my cousin is checking out a movie and the cashier LITERALLY shoves the "choose 3 magazines" paper in his face. I get it, you have to sell those, I work in retail and completely understand 100% the stresses that come with having to sell magazines but there's a better way to go about it.
All in all, I've been in here a few times and this is the first time I've had problems. Typically, the good would outweigh the bad but today was just not good. I felt taken advantage of and probably won't be going back. In the big scheme of things, my business isn't that important to them but I hope they see all the complaints that come about their trade opportunities and...
Read moreThis place is really big and cool, but it's kind of overwhelming and hard to navigate. I wish they would separate the used items from the new items because one book will be like $10 dollars and another of the same ones, in a different condition, will be like $6, so it would be easier to know when you're getting a deal. The people that work here are cool and the store is very clean. I brought books in to sell and that process what very easy. I will say about the books though, I brought in like 25 books but only got $7 cash or $13 store credit for them. I thought that was pretty wacky when one of the books I gave them, they had on shelves for $11.50. I understand having to make profit but at that point was it even worth it to bring my books to you? I could sell them myself. I know I sound a bit passive aggressive to this place because it is nice, but I just feel like it could be better. I know this place makes a lot of money so I dont know why it sells used books at full value but wont pay you good enough for the books they'll make a good penny on over some time. Anyway, it is a great book store because theres a LOT to choose from. Its half second hand, half new. So some good prices, some not. I do recommend...
Read moreThis place has a pretty good selection of older games and toys (which are what I'm mostly interested in buying), although that's slightly declined over the past couple years after the sudden rush of people who must've discovered the store when I did stopped, and the constant flood of new trade-ins that made this a store to check almost every day stopped along with them (but that's not the store's fault of course). At least it's still one of the best places to buy games and toys in the city (certainly better than the TOYS R US next door), and the prices on everything are super good. My only real gripes are that they constantly put their price stickers on paper and cardboard packaging, and sometimes that gets ruined when you try to remove the sticker. They also devote an absurdly large space to selling those annoying and awful Pop figures, space that could be used on the more interesting things that customers trade in (I'm not a big fan of the tables covered in Doctor Who and other brands either but at least that's just something I'm not a fan of rather than something that's just out and out garbage). At least they seem to have gotten rid of all the Duck...
