Our dinner experience tonight was very disappointing. It began after we ordered. We ordered a Bloomin' Onion for an appetizer and were expecting the brown bread service also. Fifteen minutes later we had nothing, and our waiter had not returned to the table. The waiter had been to two other tables. Someone from the kitchen delivered my husband's wedge salad. Meanwhile I watched three other parties be seated. One was a party of seven. They were seated and ordered about five minutes after us. They received their Bloomin' Onion and two loaves of bread long before us. I believe our waiter forgot about us and did not check for the onion or the bread; thus it went to another table. Eventually, we saw our waiter again, and asked about the onion and bread. He said he'd check on it. One loaf of bread came out quickly, but not an onion. Meanwhile, my husband finished his salad. Five to ten minutes after the bread came out, our food arrived--still no bloomin' onion. Our meal was not delivered by our waiter. I ordered a medium filet mignon with a baked sweet potato and asparagus. My steak was medium rare in the middle, but I ate it anyway. The sweet potato was the smallest sweet potato I've ever seen. It was supposed to have honey butter and cinnamon on it. The cinnamon was missing. The asparagus was fine. My husband ordered his steak medium; it was medium well, bordering o well done. He had ordered a baked sweet potato also. The plate had a regular baked potato with no toppings on it. At that moment, our waiter arrived with the onion. We sent it back since our food had arrived. He made an excuse about not knowing what had happened. He said he'd remove it from our bill. After he left, we realized our meal order wasn't right. By this time, we were disgusted with the poor service and poor attention to detail. My husband got up and found the waiter. He told him what was wrong. A few minutes later his correct potato and my cinnamon came out. We ate our meal without interruption. No one ever offered any "I'm sorry", free dessert, or money off. The manager was unaware of any of this, which says volumes about the lack of policies/procedures in place. The restaurant was not crowded. I cannot justify eating here again. Outback has gotten ridiculously expensive. I expect quality everything for the prices they charge. They cannot deliver that, while their competition can. As a result, we will not eat...
Read moreI would rate much higher if the staff and service had not provided such a terrible experience. I have been to several branches of outback steakhouse but never to this one.
I ordered a NY steak with bone which was fairly good. My wife was fairly new to this place and asked the waiter how the sirloin steak looked like as she does not like thick steaks. He told her it would be thin and long, not like a mignon. Instead what she got was a short thick piece of steak. It took over 5 min to talk to staff about this and who we got was the manager called Tinishia who was very rude and condescending. She looked down on us and with an attitude said ‘You ordered a sirloin and this is what was charged. Can’t you see. This is what is in your plate.’
The food at this point had gotten colder and we asked if it could be reheated. Clearly it was placed in the microwave because the texture of the mashed potatoes had changed. Upon cutting it it was undercooked and we asked for it to be made medium. When it finally came back it tasted like clorox and we called for the manager again. We explained again the situation, that we asked for help in choosing a specific steak which is thin not thick and the waiver gave us a recommendation on the exact opposite. She tells us ‘ but he explained it to you’ and we have to clarify again that he did not. Her response is ‘ i am confused, when you called me the first time did you want me to take the steak back or reheat it.’ Finally she takes the food back and does not charge. A child would have understood what our issue was but she didn’t. This manager should not be talking to customers, her attitude is terrible and she should work on managing that. Because of her we will not be returning back here.
Outback steakhouse is good in other places but I do not recommend anyone visit the location near Riverchase Galleria under the current manager. We will be filing a formal...
Read morethis company has really gone downhill. i came with my partner to eat for my birthday on thursday the 19th, and was very underwhelmed and disappointed. our server was very sweet and helpful. you could tell she's probably been working all day and dealing with horrible customers and management alike. but she was so in the weeds and without any sort of help from her teammates that we didn't see waters until fifteen minutes after we sat down. let me clarify, this review IS NOT about our server. she was great. the appetizers, mac bites and hot kookaburra wings, were delicious. the potato soup was a little salty for my taste, but my partner enjoyed it. i ordered a kingsland pasta with medium steak. the last time I had ever tried it, i got this beautifully plated pasta with warm, fresh grilled shrimp and perfectly medium steak on skewers, with a rich alfredo topped with i believe parsley. what i received last night was burned steak chunks and hard shrimp thrown on top of fettuccine, with a congealed sad excuse for alfredo sauce. i wanted to give it a shot, and took a few bites, but it just wasn't good. there were no issues taking the food off of the bill, and i was offered a replacement entree, but my appetite had been ruined at that point, so we politely declined. paid and left, most likely won't be returning. but my server, don't remember her name but she was the sweetest, with pale blonde hair and glasses. hope she moves on to bigger and better, because this restaurant is failing her and failing the clientele. even the guests around us seemed to hate their food and be having similar issues. such a shame. we won't be returning here, or probably ever to...
