This museum was a surprisingly rich source of fascinating history, proving that small towns can pack big stories. My wife and I had a great time unraveling the layers of Hopkinsville’s past—some uplifting, others undeniably heartbreaking. However, one noticeable gap was the lack of Black history representation. While some narratives were included, it felt like more could be done to ensure that the full picture is captured. Preserving all voices from history matters, and hopefully, future updates to the museum will reflect that. Hopkinsville has some detailed history and stories with some encounters with aliens which was very interesting. While these stories of aliens typically One standout highlight was the dedicated space to bell hooks, Hopkinsville’s beloved literary giant. With contributions from her family, the museum curated a stunning tribute, even filling a bookshelf with selections from her personal library—a fitting touch that inspired both my wife and me to expand our reading lists. Despite its small size, it is the only museum in Hopkinsville with African American history and Edgar Cayce exhibits. The $5 admission fee was very satisfactory. Hillary and Alissa, the museum staff, were very nice and helpful. I greatly appreciated the museum kit provided to me with pencils, postcards, a recipe card, and museum tokens to use. The museum is very interactive and child friendly. I love reading the weird and wonderful facts exhibits throughout the museum about the goblins, the Nightriders, the blackbird invasion, and Blind Mary. The Edgar Cayce exhibit was my favorite. I spent most of my time there. If you go to the museum, make sure to write on a museum postcard there. The museum will provide the post card, a stamp, and mail it for you. One of the unique features of the museum is the blackbirds flying all over the museum and perched on random places all over the museum like the ladies bathroom. Membership is $25 and gives you a year full of free museum admissions and discounts. I may seriously consider...
