What a beautiful calm place to go with or without the dog. The people are friendly, most of the dogs well behaved. On the top of my list. ** Until today, we have had no problems. Today, 3 of us took our 5 mos old American pitt & our friend brought his 3 mos old, same breed. Both puppies are very friendly, loving, & well socialized. They play with each other & other dogs quite nicely. We were headed for the larger dog side since our 5 mos old is 42lbs. Lots of dogs there playing. There were a couple larger dogs who were less than welcomng so we took our guys to the small dog area. They wandered & played for a while until a man asked if he could bring his 10 mos old blue nose in. He told us his dog was gentle & played well with others. The 3 pups were soon romping but the older, much larger dog started growling, not a very playful growl. I told his owner it sounded serious & was told that he doesn't stop his dog unless there's nipping, that they growl in play. I know the difference between play growling & aggressive growling. Within seconds his dog was biting mine & mine was crying in pain. He has bite marks on his legs now & is leary of playing with other dogs. The man did finally pulled his dog away & made him lay down but the damage was done. Please be careful with larger dogs. And if someone is uncomfortable, respect what they say. This blue nose pit is twice the age & size of mine. We're just glad no blood was drawn, no serious wounds inflicted. Please, learn the difference in your dog's growls & body language. And try to keep bigger animals out of the small...
Read moreBEWARE OF A DOG NAMED "FEEGO". Rottweiler type dog. Attacked my dog on multiple occasions with the owner doing nothing but calling this viscous dog off just to allow it to attack again and again until I had to leave after the 3rd or 4th time. Later noticed my dog had multiple lacerations to his neck shoulders and arms. Overheard a conversation that the dog attends a military style attack dog type school. In the end the owner did nothing but enjoy his time watching his dog attack my dog as my 6 year old watched in fear.
The park without this attack dog would rate much higher but I can't fathom going back just in case. Other dog owners said this pair like to hang out there often and have seen FEEGO do this to other dogs.
Who takes a viscous dog to interact with other dogs who are there to run and play? BAN THIS DOG AND OWNER IF YOU GO. Good luck and I hope your dog doesn't need to heal it's wounds after a trip to...
Read moreWe were recommended this park by someone and we saw it highly rated and thought we'd give it a try since we aren't too far away from it. We won't be back though. While the grounds are beautiful and clean, we didn't feel very welcomed and felt uncomfortable. My puppy is a small breed, 1yo, and in the small enclosure, but everyone, including those who had dogs in similar size to ours, still went over into the Large enclosure, I guess where they felt more "comfortable" with people who looked like them. My poor pup just sat there by himself at the gate watching and wagging his tail. People just didn't seem all that warm towards us despite my smiling and saying hello. It just felt off. Needless to say we'll be looking for a more diverse dog park where owners also look like me. It's a shame that WE make others feel welcome in our spaces yet when we're in theirs we're treated not...
