Switchback trail going down from small parking area. They should call it Lizard Rock Trail; saw a few small lizards. Some very nice mossy boulders and rock of different colors. From a creamy white to shell pink and dark gray even black. A mix of native Arkansas trees; Ash, gum, Persimmons, Ponderosa pine and a few species of Oak. We went on a very hot sunny day without water so we only hiked about a mile total. Trail hooks on to others and very well marked. Not many people on a Tuesday afternoon.

Oct 15th- This was a pretty easy hike, well marked, it is all up hill, but a quick little up and back, you can keep going and do the loop if you choose but we didn’t, we came back down. We did see a cotton mouth under one of the rocks you walk across, which I couldn’t believe cause it was pretty chilly. But I guess they were trying to get some sun. So heads up. Nice little look out point at the top.

The hike was perfect for anyone with little to no trail experience. I hiked with my 68yr old dad and 7 week old baby. Easy elevation and beautiful scenery along the way. Yes, it is a bunch of trees, boulders and more trees but definitely worth it if you are into those things and appreciate what nature has to offer. There is a cool crooked pine tree along the hike worth a look too.

This is a nice trail with scenic views, and we only came across others down near Goat Rock, although they didn’t seem to know what the rock was because they were coming from a different trail. The trail doesn’t round out or have a way back to the top, so if you want to get back to the parking area you’re required to go back the same way you came from. Additionally, you can see most of the view from the parking area at the head of the trail, so if you’re not looking forward to being out in nature and the elements, pick a spot and snap a pic, you’ll...

Relatively easy gravel trail. Significant elevation change, but switchbacks make the grade easy to handle. Well maintained. Beautiful views. Keep in mind, when you enter Goat Rock trail at the top, you actually end up on Gulpha Gorge trail, which brings you out to the park road to walk back up to the parking area. The trail is not a loop that we could find. Also, be prepared to run into horseback riders...
