A must see museum, not only for those wanting to learn more about Gandhi but perhaps even more so for those who don't know much about the man and his philosophy of civil disobedience and non-violence. From the architecture (outside and inside) to the exhibits and, yes, even the small gift shop, this museum exudes a dedication by the women and men who brought it to fruition over many years of hard work. Everything is tastefully done and well thought out - there is a great mixture of visual, audio and text so that you don't' feel overwhelmed by having to get through so much information in a short amount of time. This truly tells the life story of Gandhi from birth to his assassination and includes many references to the great figures in history who came after him that were influenced by him You simply cannot miss this gem whether you're visiting Houston or have lived here for many years.

Opened in Oct 2023, Eternal Gandhi Museum is a modern stop for those who wants to learn the life of Gandhi or for those who wants a refreshing or reflective perspective. Structured in 3 parts - Gandhi’s journey, the world’s journey (global peace leaders), and my journey - the museum presents history in artistic, engaging and interactive way. Atul,a co-founder of the museum, gave us a great tour. Learned how Gandhi transformed from a boy of fear to a man of freedom; how one man can inspire so many leaders and peace, truth, freedom movements. Factor in 2 hours to leave time for the little cinema and Photo Booth at the end. Pick free commitment rubber bands as souvenirs to remind you of this journey (love, peace, truth, service, non-violence, be the change). Plenty of parking. A good spot to bring children to see a different perspective.

I recently visited the Gandhi Museum in Houston with my kids. It was a truly enlightening experience that connected with today's culture. The museum displayed Gandhi's life and teachings, emphasizing nonviolence as a powerful tool for change. Interactive exhibits engaged my children, while reminding me of the importance of nonviolence in today's polarized society. This approach highlighted the global impact and potential of nonviolence as a guiding principle.
