Purchased a vehicle in July, and the tire needed to be replaced upon purchase (due to a nail). After weeks of chasing the staff, it was repaired instead of being replaced; however, that was not what was promised by the salesman. Also, after the first few weeks of purchase, the vehicle began to shake and swerve out of a straight line while driving. I contacted both the sales and the auto department. The vehicle was picked up by their staff (late) since it took months of reaching out and showing up to the dealership on a Saturday when no tires were available. After 7 weeks, the tire had finally been replaced. When the car made it back to me, it smelled terrible, like body odor. I was also told by the sales guy that the shaking issue with the car may be something that has to come out of pocket to repair. The tire was finally replaced, and the auto repair staff blamed the shaking issue on the tire. the auto dept. I was assured that the issue was fixed since the tire was replaced.
The car wasn’t even a month old at the time and was still shaking after the tire was replaced. The vehicle began having additional issues, such as emergency braking while driving, all tires appearing as low air pressure, and the blind spot unavailable. I explained all of this to a staff member in the auto department, and he informed me he’d get back in touch by Monday to secure a rental. I didn’t hear back from him, followed up twice the next day and the day after, and nothing. By Wednesday, without a word, I decided to take the vehicle to another dealership since I was afraid to drive it.
The other dealership was able to switched out a module, causing all of the technical issues on the dash, but would have to charge out of pocket for a full rotation and balance on the vehicle for the shaking/swerving. They advised me to go back where I purchased the vehicle to have them take care of the issue since the car was sold under this condition.
I returned to this dealership, where they had a rental ready this time. The service man asked if there were any additional issues. I mentioned the wipers weren’t functioning properly. The vehicle was in the shop for about a wk, and the team balanced and rotated the tires along with weights on the front tires. The auto dept. staff stated the wipers would have to be put pocket and were not approved by the sales manager to be replaced. Also, was informed by the auto staff that at every 5k miles or so, wipers should be replaced. I purchased the vehicle at 5k miles. The fact that the sales manager refused to approve the wipers being replaced is insane. It’s frustrating for them to suggest I come out of pocket for multiple issues when the car is supposed be like “new”. It’s ridiculous. Anthony, the auto dept. staff pulled strings to have the wipers replaced; his supervisor Daphne, approved replacing the wipers.
Over the past few months, I have left 4 voicemails total, but no one has returned my calls. I left two voicemails to Twin (the sales manager) directly, and did not receive a call back. When I picked up the vehicle, I explained the ongoing issues to Twin… How many times I’ve had to follow up with the team numerous times at weeks at a time to get a response for months now. He offered me an apology… that’s it. I asked to speak to the general manager, but he had left for the day. Ryan, the car salesman’s attempted to smooth things over, but he has not reached out after I messaged him that the car is still having issues. I messaged the auto dept. staff that the vehicle is still shaking the day after I picked up my vehicle. I was supposed to hear back this last wk after he spoke to his foreman, but never heard back.
It’s now October, it’s been 3 months with this “new” car and the vehicle is still shaking! Today, I left a voicemail for Dana, the general manager, we’ll see if I get a call back. It’s been impossible to get in touch with staff/ managers and find any resolutions. Please reconsider purchasing with this dealership! I DO...
Read moreI bought a Ford Edge from Gillman Jeep on Feb. 10th, and I was not pleased with my service and would not recommend this place to anyone. I feel like the people I interacted with were either deceptive or just too comfortable making stuff up. I was told many things that were not true as well as made verbal promises that were not kept. I had two different sales associates, Nikki and Mo. I also interfaced with a finance rep Christian and a manager Jason.
There was some carpet under the driver's seat that was loose and was told it was done to put the car in dealer mode – not true. I was told that it would be fixed – it was not fixed until I came back a second time. I was told the car had two keys – not true. I was told the dealer fees had to do with standard maintenance and checks that they had to do on all incoming cars. None of that maintenance cost showed up on my final contract, only a Nitrofil service that I was never told about and accessories, which I have no idea what accessories I paid for.
After viewing the car, the day before and putting down a $500 deposit to reserve the car, I came the next morning (~9:30am) to purchase. I was told the car would be ready in 15 min. So, I went ahead to do the paperwork – my huge mistake (I should have waited to see the car before signing papers). We asked the finance guy about the keys, instead of checking, he just said whatever they told you is true – it wasn’t. He didn’t give me copies of anything I signed except the buyer’s order. I had to take pictures on my phone. We left the dealership at 12:30pm without a car, because it still wasn’t ready. They offered to deliver it to us. On delivery, none of the specific items we asked them to fix were completed. I asked about the second key and was finally told there wasn’t one but was texted a card for Nitrofil and told that they would replace a lost key and I just needed to tell them I lost my key. This was my first time seeing any detail about a service that I apparently bought. After reading the service contract, what I was told doesn’t sound true. I was told they were doing some servicing and alignment which is why it took so long.
I called the manager back and told him I wasn’t pleased. I told him I wanted the items fixed, I wanted copies of all of my paperwork, and a copy of the mechanic’s report so I could see what they did. He said yes, we will do it all. I dropped off my car directly with the manager, he said he would have all the paperwork and fixes done when I picked it up. When I went to pick it up, after verifying it was complete, none of the people I interfaced with were around and there was no paperwork for me to pick up. They did at least do the fixes I asked for. I did again ask for copies of my paperwork and was told that it would be sent to me – it wasn’t. Less than a week later, I have a low-pressure light in one of my tires. Now that I supremely don’t trust them, I will take my car to a different mechanic to get it checked out just to make sure the actual car is good.
In conclusion, I 'think' the car overall is good but they left me with a not great...
Read moreScam!! Buyer Beware! We purchased 2 cars from Gillman a 2010 infinity and a used Jeep 2020 still under manufacture warranty for a few thousand miles. The only person at Gillman that is a honest guy is Director Frank at the Repair Service Center! Outstanding Honesty and Genuine great guy! I took my car in on May 31st because the battery light came on. Got to the dealership they checked it said everything was fine. So I left on June 3rd the car would not turn on nothing. Had to manually unlock the car with the key to open the car. Had it towed to the dealership for repairs however, the car turned on. The car will turn on sometimes after a few attempts or not at all. It will act like it will turn off while driving sometimes if you don’t park it asap! They have looked over this car multiple times can not figure out what’s wrong so they contacted the manufacturers engineers and the (per them) the best educated guess is to replace the motherboard in the car. (Which has passed the diagnostic many times with no errors as the car as a whole) so the manufacturer is sending someone (certified computer person) out in late August to replace the motherboard only. Then it’s up to the dealership to see if it works if not troubleshoot more.. we only made 2 payments on this car the second one while it was at their shop getting looked at! They will not cancel the loan or put us in another vehicle that’s the same price because they don’t have any in that price range. The cars they have are 12,000 dollars more! We picked cars within our financial price range and now they want to add another 12,000 to our debit we can not afford that! Gillman put hard inquiries on our credit to get the cars and now it looks like we’re just trying to trade in this one because we don’t like it! They have had our car for almost 2 months now! Director Gustavo in finance says he’s working on it and he needs another day but, as I write this review it’s been 3 going on 4 days since he asked for another day again! I always have to follow up! Gillman does not thoroughly check their used cars they take for trade-in! Gilman has absolutely NO INTEGRITY or MORAL COMPASS to do the right thing they hide behind smiling faces but screw you behind your back! They do not car if you’re a hardworking person that needs a car to work they just want that signature on the line so they can cash that check to sell you a busted car!...
