I'm a total newb and haven't been to other parks except the old one in HSV but this place is awesome! I especially loved the smooth surfaces. I fell several times and never lost a drop of blood. (I did sprain my shoulder a little bit, but I didn't bleed.) The place is huge. When I was there they were having a big event and there were tons of people there but it really didn't feel super crowded. Very clean. Kid friendly. Hopefully it won't get covered with graffiti like the old park. For now it's just like brand new. The only real downside was that there's not much shade. There's some - a few shade sails here and there, and I know the nature of skate parks doesn't really allow for trees or whatever, but another one or two shaded rest areas would be great. Bring your own water. If there's a source of water on site, I didn't see it. All in all, great park! Makes me wish I could have started skating when I was a kid.
