New Vietnamese restaurant!! We are so excited to have one closer to home. Viet House is really solid.

We carried out not too long after they opened. We went with our baseline favorites -- beef and chicken clay pots. Fiancé also got an order of their orange wings and I got a Thai tea with boba because I can't resist, haha.

They were doing a brisk business when we arrived to pick up our food. The inside looked clean and was brightly decorated, with a greater than expected number of available seats and booths. There's a large counter where you can walk up and pick up your order. Ours was ready and waiting for us except for my Thai tea, which they made fresh when we arrived. That took a couple extra minutes.

The prices are reasonable and the serving sizes are generous. I thought my Thai tea was especially large for the price (not complaining, haha). It was really good, the tea part especially. Some of the boba were a little on the soft, almost-disintegrating side, but they did have a really nice, familiar boba flavor.

On to the food: we really liked the clay pots. One unique positive about Viet House's take out is that their rice actually was/stayed crispy on the way home. Usually with takeout orders we've forsaken any hope at crispy rice because they obviously don't send it home in the actual clay pot...but this rice was crisped up, which was AWESOME. Both came with the vegetables we have typically gotten in clay pots at other places -- broccoli, baby corn, a couple bell peppers, onions, plus pineapple. It was all cooked very nicely and was quite flavorful. My only complaint is that I wish there was an easier way to mix the meat and vegetables with the rice without having to re-plate the whole thing. I personally really like to mix all my stuff together after adding a generous amount of sambal/chili sauce, but it was hard given the way they packaged the meal.

The only letdown of the night was the wings; fiancé said they were soggy and didn't have as much flavor as he was really expecting. Probably wouldn't get those again, at least not for carryout. We definitely want to try dining in at some point; I'm sure they're better when served fresh.

Overall, another great Vietnamese addition to the Huntsville area. We will definitely return for a convenient and...

There are so much we want to say about this lovely restaurant. So far, we’ve tried combo banh mi, roasted pork banh mi, spicy grilled pork banh mi (these were takeaways so no pics), bun bo hue, banh canh cua (udon crab soup, I believe) and pork egg rolls. My wife is a Vietnamese born and raised in Saigon and she’s approved of the food here after trying out different viet restaurants. Service: the staff are very attentive and there was never a wait. They even asked if we needed a takeout container before we asked for one. In general, we were very happy with the service. Food: my wife is a decent cook and she grew up eating viet dishes, so she’s quite picky when it comes to how authentic the food is. The first bite into the combo banh mi, and she fell in love, and she knew we had to come back for dinner. Her favorite was definitely everything that we ordered that day. The food is delicious and super affordable (the price and the size here can’t be found elsewhere). We also love how Viet House tries to keep the authenticity of the dishes, for example, bun bo hue(S2) has 2 pork knuckles and 4-5 blood pudding pieces, and beef, and the udon crab soup(S1) actually has shredded crab meat and the right type of noodle (definitely not Japanese udon please), while still keeping them enjoyable for other customers from different cultures. And just the effort put into having the right ingredients while locating in the U.S. is already a plus right there. All in all, our experience was superb and we’re looking forward to trying more dishes and drinks...

The food is always good, I usually come in to drink a glass of plum win and get my food to go. But tonight when I did that the server told me that I had to go the front to order, and then proceeded to bring me my check immediately after and told me that since it was to go that I had to pay first. Even though I was sitting inside to drink a glass of wine. And when I went up to the front to pay and order another glass of wine I was told that I couldn’t order another glass of wine until the glass that I had was finished and I brought it back to them. I have never had anything like this happen here, I’ve been coming here for years. And I understand it’s not the servers fault I was told it was management that had came up with these rules. But I do this every few weeks and I have never had an issue with this. I could hear the server and the cashier talking about it not too far away from me. I will not be coming back, even though I have never had anything issues here in the years I’ve been...

Spacious place with a wide menu selection. The all-in-one pho had ultra tender tenderloin, melt-in-your-mouth tendon, flavorful brisket, soft tripe, and meatball slices. You have the option of making it angry (spicy) and I picked level 2 (very spicy), it wasn't that spicy and the table chili had better flavor. It would have been perfect if the broth wasn't so salty that left it inedible on its own. Unfortunate, really, as the broth is supposed to be the star and usually my favorite part. Service was great, everyone worked together and seemed to get along well. I may come back and try a different dish, lots of other options that looked tasty. I most likely will not get the pho again.
