I really like this park for a number of reasons. First, there are two beaches at this lakeside park. There are numerous soccer pitches, taco and fruit trucks, and a boat launch area. It's a pretty good size park with lots of options for pickanicks. It's right next to Indiana. Right before you get to the park there's a Kentucky fried chicken, (on 106th street), a drive thru hot dog joint on 95th across the street from the park entrance, and world famous Calumet Fisheries a block west of the entrance on 95th street. The bridge over the river on 95th street was the one used in the opening few scenes of the first Blues Brothers' movie. The park gets busy, but it's so big that it never seems...
Read moreThis park should be ashamed of themself. This park is huge and plenty of grass and the dogs don’t even have soft ground to run on?!? Then it’s only one park, and there should be two. One for big dogs and one for little dogs, there are no poop or garbage inside available to put the poop. Im so disappointed in Chicago, especially the east side because they really shorten us out. They need to extend this gate to more grass for the dogs to play in, and install a poop bag with a garbage attached. I gave it two stars only because there is water fountain inside and free (no membership) for@, But my dogs(two German/ Husky) tried to enjoy this and they were slipping and sliding over...
Read moreI'm disappointed in the way the park district left the fields knowing families and organizations were hosting cookouts today! The National Pan Hellenic Council, a collective of 9 Black Greek Letter Organizations, is hosting it's annual cookout today and the field allotted for use was in a horrible state! There are grass clippings all over(but the soccer fields were clear of debris) and some reported horse droppings in the field as well. These Orgs paid good money for mutiple permits to host this event. Bad business chicago park district! No one should have to bring rakes and shovels to clean up space that has...
