I’ve never had food and felt angry after, but I guess there’s a first time for everything. While the actual restaurant is beautiful and the ladies who served me were lovely, the food was absolute garbage. The “asada” is not asada and the menu online is not up to date. The meat they’re serving is “bistec” and it was dried up salty chopped up mystery meat. I’m not sure what type of meat it is but it’s clear the restaurant is cutting corners to save money. The sauces came in plastic bags and there’s no way to eat it without it getting everywhere. The horchata also comes in a bag with no ice so if that’s your thing, you might like it. The limes were cut in 10’s as in, not halved or quartered but one lime cut in 10 pieces allowing you to add 5 drops to your tacos. The onion in the tacos was sloppily cut and cut largely unlike the lime and it’s not pleasant biting into them like that when they’re raw. The radishes they added to the taco dinner I had were also cut way too big to be considered garnish so I’m not sure why they were added to the dinner because it certainly wasn’t for the aesthetics. What drew me to this restaurant in the first place was the frijoles de olla and the tortillas a mano and while the beans were good, beware that there is a surcharge for the handmade tortillas. I can’t express enough how much this place should be avoided and for what it’s worth, I’m Mexican myself and I know what good Mexican food tastes like, but this isn’t it. It pains me to have to give this restaurant a negative review as I had high hopes but this is the worst representation of Mexican food and they give tacos a bad name on top of being ridiculously overpriced. For just 2 taco dinners with handmade tortillas I paid over $35 and it’s the worst $35 I’ve ever spent. If the restaurant answered the phone I’d give them a piece of my mind, but for now I’ll just warn other potential customers. I’ll be adding pictures of my meal so that you can judge for yourself.

Customer service is by far the worst I’ve seen. I parked at the door and called to ask a simple question, I saw the cashier talking to a customer and didn’t answer ok fine. Now that he has walked away she walks away and does not answer yet again. So I hang up and call back only to watch her not answer. So I see a man go inside and they have a conversation and she finally answers then places me on hold. I wait they laugh and talk some more once money was exchanged they continue to talk. So I hang up to call again it’s 25 degrees outside and I just need to know if I can buy tortillas. She picked up rolled her eyes and placed me on hold yet again. So I couldn’t understand why she was being so rude and just not caring about the phones at all mind you it’s nobody inside so it’s not like she was busy. I go inside with the phone on hold and ask what was the hold she looked me clean in my face and turned to the other customer and laughed clean in my face and I really couldn’t understand how that could happen. How can you be so rude and then laugh at me in my face with another customer. INSANE BEHAVIOR I WILL NEVER COME TO THIS PLACE TO BE TREATED AND LIED TO LIKE THIS AGAIN. ITS NOT LOLE THIS IS MY FIRST TIME HERE. IVE BROUGHT COUNTLESS PEOPLE HERE. NEVER AGAIN

Dined in at around 6pm on a Friday and there was nobody eating at the establishment until after we arrived. Lots of street parking, place is clean, and staff was welcoming. They also have a patio which we didn’t choose to eat in because it was too hot out. Our order was not that big and it did take a good while to come out but they give you chips and a little salsa flight to eat while you wait. I enjoyed all three salsas. Aguas frescas—both the horchata and the jamaica one— were delicious and refreshing. Food had good presentation although I wish they gave cucumber slices instead of radishes to make it the true Tijuana taco experience. Guac on the tacos was skimpy and a little salty but overall enjoyed and will be back! We paid around $50 for two people.

I really wanted to love this place but it fell short. The place is located in a bad neighborhood and is small, so if you have a group of 6+ you will not be able to sit together (indoor at least, didn’t get to see the outdoor area since it’s winter). We were given 3 super tiny bowls of salsa and a few very thinly sliced limes as soon as we sat but no chips. They said they were all out of chips? Anyways, we placed our orders which included Al pastor and steak tacos and quesadillas but the steak had zero flavor and was dry. The menu and waitress said the tacos came with guacamole but that is not true, it is a green salsa made with avocado that is placed on the tacos, not real guacamole. If you ask for extra limes and extra salsa (which you definitely will) you will be charged every single time. I was also charged for water that I never got.

I also placed an order to go before trying the food and wanted to get fresh tortillas with the tacos to-go but was told they were “too busy” to make fresh tortillas to-go.

The pros of this place: fresh tortillas and good horchata and agua de jamaica. Negatives: dry flavorless steak, overpriced, salsa for to-go orders are placed in a very thin bag that can easily rip.

This place has potential but don’t try to nickel and...
