This place is a dump. Too bad I can't give it zero stars. I stayed here in mid July 2022 based on reviews here on Google. I should have looked closer to the dates of reviews.
The place is located between a safe treatment plant and a huge cement plant. It's wooded along a river and seems to have been abandoned as a campground years ago.
The road to the sites is a narrow dirty road. Passable enough on my motorcycle and a car. But NO RV should attempt. You have to turn around in a fairly tight spot at the end.
The local kids must have this on their "cruising route". I couldn't believe the traffic despite being nearly unoccupied. Had no trouble though I was hesitant to leave my site to go into town.
The sites and road were I'll kept. It appears to have been an old Eagle Scout project to create this place. Then after the scouts moved on, it became a burden for the city to maintain.
Most of the sites were so bad I wouldn't consider seeing up a tent in them. They were only suitable for van camping. I didn't even care to venture into the toilet facilities.
The site next to me appeared to be an intermittently occupied homeless (hippy¿) camp. Tents open, gear and food and clothes scattered about. Garbage and old food too.
Local kids had a bonfire that night but other than dozens of cars passing back and forth they didn't bother me.
I tent camp on my motorcycle across the country quite a bit. This was the worst I have ever...
Read moreI am surprised at how much is fit behind the expectation of this little park! It seems simple but there is the obvious park area that has nice grass and a pavilion with benches, and then there are camp grounds, mountain bike trails, a frisbee golf course, fishing (I think), as well as walking trails and I've seen people riding razors and atvs around! Some areas through the river are deep enough for swimming and other areas are shallow enough for some fun off-roading! We have brought our dog here multiple times and he loves it. There are often a handful of dogs that we see when we go. The road that goes along the camp sites is very accessible to all vehicles. We even took our Honda civic into the river in a shallow area for fun, but...
Read moreThe campsites are really hard to distinguish from the others, some are thrown behind campsites with no number markers 🤷
Was unable to pay because they had no envelopes nor any indication aside from a 20font sentence inner the map
There were a few sites that had fore pits with grass growing right up on the pit. A dangerous fire hazard.
It's right next to factories which make it hard to believe that you're actually camping near wildlife
Overall, the campsites were still nice, benches - fire pit - 1 to 2 tent lofts. Lots of dead wood on the ground for a fire. Nice park nearby. Water too. 👌 Good enough for a...
