Went to the fair and honestly don't know why you even have to pay the $2 entrance as there was nothing apart from food stands.
Edit: I apologize as I haven't elaborated on my review. Moving to a town with over 30,000 people you would expect a fair that is at least on that level. We lived in a town with 800 people and the fair was 10 times bigger and more entertaining.
Here are my reasons why: Apart from a bull ride and some string thing, there were no rides. Our 7 year old begged us to go home because "there is nothing to do". The only reason we go to the fair is for food and for entertainment for the kids and only the food was there. My kids aren't into dog shows, which was the ONLY thing open or showing on a Friday after work. There was going to be a crazy 8 later but guess what, you had to pay extra from what you paid at the gate just to enter (this is the first time ever I had to pay entrance at a fair).
We did enjoy that the kids got to enteract with the sheep that was curious and kept on putting their heads out.
In short, this type of fair should be expected from a town with 100 to 500 people, not a town of 30,000 people. We personally thought this was either due to the state fair being so close OR the town not really supporting a fair due to so many students not...
Read moreImmaculate, easy to access, close-in parking, friendly staff. I've been to many fairs and fairgrounds, big and small. This one was the "easiest" experience so far. And surprisingly clean (well, not surprising for Rexburg, but just in general) despite the crowds. The only downside is the grandstand seating which is painfully narrow. There's no way for an adult to sit without kneeing the person in front, while being kneed by the person behind. Someday maybe we'll get replacements like those at Madison High where the bench-to-bench distance is increased. But everybody was cool and friendly and...
Read moreFair is small enough venue that you can take your family and not worry too much if kids 8+ wander off, should be easy enough to locate them. Closest parking is on the street. Two larger parking lots take some walking to get to entrance, about 1/2 block once you get from your parking lot to the street. (I give 3 ⭐ bc parking not that great) Has 3-4 indoor display bldgs; a small grandstand for rodeos, concerts, and demolition derbys; room for at least 25 outside venders; room for carnival rides/bounce houses, and an...
