I love this place. Great to clear the mind and be one with nature. Owls, other birds, tons of fuzzy caterpillars, vultures, eagles, snakes, centipedes, frogs. Plenty of trail markers along the way. Wear comfy shoes and bring plenty of water if visiting during summer days. Canyons were dry but it was still a great hike. A little bummed out that my kids only did 7 miles out of the 13 but it was an adventure.

It’s worthy to go down there. Something like 230 steps to go down.

A hidden local treasure this Starved Rock park full of superb groomed trails maintained for safety. Huge crowds during active weekends mean these side trails are a good choice and a wonderful natural experience. Just driving through the park is a sight to behold. Be careful, lots of over-the-centerline...
