We were in Ilwaco just in time for their Saturday Market, lots of good Booth and Vendors, however I was again surprised that the NW Fisheries didn't have more of a presence. There were several of the Fishing Charters with their doors open and some fish for sale, however there was no promotion of the Industry, nor any Coast Guard giving out Safety advice, both I felt should have been included. Still an enjoyable little walk and a way to spend a few hours. My Wife and I had a refreshing little Coffee lunch watching the Waterfront activities. I do recommend an Ilwaco visit...
Read moreI tunafish every summer using this area to launch my boat , stay the night get live bait and head offshore. This is a fishing port and provides access to the Columbia and off shore. I advise anybody that is bringing a boat here be very prepared and fully understand how to launch their boat correctly as the boat ramp is very steep and slippery. especially at low tide. Read moreMake sure you find a restroom before coming to Ilwaco to fish. The porta potties were disgustingly full!!! They’ve decided to only open public restrooms between 8 am - 4:30 pm. Fishing does not happen between 8-4:30. We’re paying launch fees to help with maintenance. I understand vandalism is taking place but don’t take it out on paying customers of the port.
