Went to Batteries Plus at Pendleton Saturday afternoon 8/1/20 to replace a security alarm battery. There was one person in the store. The other was outside programming a key fob. There was a line of people waiting.
Complaint #1 - they need more staff on a Saturday afternoon. It took a long time for counter person to finish waiting on first customer while more customers entered the store.
Complaint #2 - Meanwhile there's a man waiting in the store without a mask on. This is a small space. Even if other people are wearing masks, someone not wearing a mask can infect the others. This is common information. Masks protect others not self. If both people are wearing masks, than everyone protected. Counter person said nothing to the unmasked man. I asked counter person if he had a mask for this man. After a while, he did offer man a mask. But only after heated argument erupted between unmasked man and me because I said something. Shouldn't have fallen on me to say something. Should be store policy. Other stores don't let people in unless they have a mask on. Not that hard. When I complained to manager Ryan next day, he said they will never confront a customer about wearing a mask. It kind of defeats the purpose of having laws and protecting people against covid 19 when that is the attitude. Not wise when covid is still running rampant in Indiana and when masks are deemed one of the most effective ways to get it under control. Everyone should do their part - including businesses - to get this pandemic under control. This store is not.
Complaint #3: after waiting 20 minutes I give counter person Sam the old battery so he can match it for a replacement. After I get new battery home, I discover that he gave me the wrong battery. So after all that, I have to go back to the store to replace it. No apology. Sam's response when I tell him he gave me the wrong one. 'oh ok'. I say not OK, I should get compensated for the wasted time, wasted gas. He gives me $3 off a $33 purchase. Not enough. Cost me more in time and gas than that. When I complain to Ryan, store manager the next day - no apologies, no offer to make things right, just justifying that's the way they do things. When I ask for the name of the owner, he refuses to give it, tells me to contact corporate. When I ask for corporate contact info, he says look it up. Lousy customer service. But most importantly they are not keeping customers safe. I will not...
Read moreOn 8/9/23 I went to store #006 to have my car fob battery checked. I had replaced the battery in the fob on 5/3/23 at the store located at 2300 E County Line Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46227 and the fob was no longer working. When I got to store #006 at 7325 Pendleton Pike Indpls, IN 46226 I was helped by Jezreel Watson. I explained to "J" that I had just replaced the battery in May and it wasn't working. I told "J" that I didn't have my receipt, but I had checked my bank account and the previous transaction was on May 3, 2023. He ask if I had the warranty or not. I told him I didn't know and told him that I had paid $16.04 for the battery. He explained that I didn't have the warranty. I had not been offered a warranty and ask him to explain. Not only did "J" explain he checked the old battery and told me the battery was bad. Then "J" went steps further to make sure I was taken care of. He checked the fob after replacing the battery for me and offered the warranty. I didn't go into detail with "J" as the store was busy, but I had been to the store on County Line Road 2 times to have the fob battery replaced and I never received the EXCELLENT service that Jezreel provided. This young man is truly an asset to your company. The service that I had gotten at the County Line Road store wasn't service at all. You should have Jezreel train them on how to provide EXCEPTIONAL...
Read moreBought several auto, motorcycle, and generator batteries from this location for years. Most times the premium batteries are out of stock; my internet order is rarely noticed by store personnel for prep, I arrive and they don't even know my order exists. Once the purchased battery had the posts mislocated from the original after using the online product search that said the battery fit my equipment. If it weren't for the Duracell brand, I would probably be buying batteries from elsewhere. But as long as they do have Duracell, I would likely continue shopping. Now, most store personnel are friendly, just aren't keeping up with orders. Last time I visited there were 3 staff and arrived and no one had seen my internet order an hour after creation. Plus the higher quality battery I desired was out of stock, the website didn't advise this nor did I get a notification there was no inventory,. This has happened twice on orders. Chronic out of stock issues you can't tell when...
