If I could give zero stars I would. Southport Discount Appliance was recommended to us from a family member who had been very pleased with them 7 years ago. Clearly they have gone down hill in those 7 years. We purchased a used refrigerator from them recently. When it arrived, it wasn't the prettiest but we were hopeful to get it looking better. One day we opened it and noticed DEAD BUGS coming out of the fan. When my partner called, they recommended we spray bug spray in the fan?? When I called, I was very calm and understanding. I reassured John, the owner, that I'm sure this happens when the fridges sit in storage for a while. He became very irritated and said that this never happens. Since that conversation, it was one disrespectful phone call after another. We finally got them to agree to come look at it. Then without my consent tried to bring us a whole new fridge. At that point after how many bugs and the mistreatment, I asked to use the warranty to just get our money back. That really made John upset, and he stated "there has to be something actually wrong with it for us to take it back." As if bugs coming out of your fridge fan isn't a major issue ā Finally, he sent someone out to remove the fridge (he was about 30 minutes late) While removing the fridge he scuffed our kitchen floor. The fridge was removed on a Tuesday and we were promised a refun check through the mail "after inspection" on Thursday. We waited until the next week and never received it. Of course, they never sent it, so we had to go pick it up ourselves. Not only were the bugs in our fridge gross, but the behavior and attitudes of John and his employees was downright disgusting. I would avoid this business...

First off, John and whoever else Iāve talked to on the phone have all been disgruntled and rude. From cutting me short when trying to explain my issue, to cutting me short when trying to figure out scheduling.
They came today (last minute) to bring a ānewā washer. I was at work at the time of delivery but observed them on camera. I heard them cussing and being unprofessional after realizing there was water in my broken dishwasher. (I explained this to them multiple times on the phone that there was standing water in my washer that wouldnāt drain). Apparently their unprofessionalism got so loud and hostile, my neighbor reached out to me to make sure I was safe because she heard angry men screaming in my apartment.
I then catch the men getting into my kitchen cabinets to get MY DISHES to scoop out the water.
Upon arriving home, I realized they in fact left all of the dirty dishes on my counter and in my sink, left dirty water all of my floors and kitchen counter tops and left soaking wet paper towels all over my counter tops as well.
Not to mention they brought me a washer FULL of mold, the entire appliance is outdated and over all disgusting.

We have had several times scheduled to have this installed and they no called no showed every time. When I call, the guy tries to blame me for being hard to get a hold of when I've only missed one call from them, which i called back. Then one of the days they had scheduled and no call no showed, i called and they said they didn't even have the dishwasher yet it was on back order.... which i understand being on back order but how can you schedule a time to install it when you don't even have it...... and then don't even inform your customer of that. I didn't hear from them for two weeks. Called them asking what was going on. They finally got a dishwasher out to us, which they picked up from Lowe's. When they took it out of the box it look like it had been hit by a fork truck. The installers called their boss and he tried to tell them to install it anyways. WHAT!? Luckily my boyfriend was there to tell them to take it back. When I called to schedule a time for the next day, the guy told me he'd call me back. Never did. So i left a message on their answering machine at 7:15pm (checked my call log). He calls me the next day saying you cant leave a message at 10pm and expect us to answer (just a flat out lie). Literally the biggest POS i have ever spoken to. I would suggest taking your business elsewhere like the rest of these...
