I have driven by this park many times but today was the first time that I went to explore it. It seems in the last year or two that they've added a great playground area and a big nice picnic shelter. That is what caught my eye from 70th Street. However, when I went past those nice newer additions I found a very nice natural park area with a great big wide path. I can see where this would be a great place for snow sliding in the winter. Also a great place for cross country skiing. The path went on and on. I didn't even go the whole area. There was a hidden pond within this park but because it's August it had a lot of algae. I talked with this couple who was coming from a hike and they said the paths go on for about a mile. I'm not sure exactly how big this park is, but it's a real gem. Read moreI really like South valley park. I rented the shelter for my sons first birthday and it was a great idea. Reasonably priced and the shelter was nice and big. The playground there is great for little kids that can walk or climb and even the bigger kids. When you rent through the city you get access to the indoor bathroom too.
