It's a Mom Pop type of place. These type of places have a special place in my culinary expeditions. So how was this one?... it was clean, service was not to die for but adequate. We had breakfast there, The food was ok, I can understand bland, but the country steak tasted like it was breaded to death. Sourdough bread was pretty much white bread as you can see in the pic. When asked, "that is the sourdough.." Surprise!!!! Even the coffee was better at the vet that we visited before. So generally speaking, food was not great. And specially for the price, I read some previous reviews and I agree. The prices are high for mediocre food and service. I don't mind paying higher prices but one has to get similar returns. I don't mean to put em down, they definitely have what it takes. It's simple really, we go to the Mom and Pops to get their hardy breakfast that have element of home cooked meal, greasy guilty pleasures that we miss from older times, dark strong roasted coffee that we admire so much, and can't forget the Mom Pop hospitality that we have come expect from these places. So, they do need to dig a bit deeper, and the potential is there. But as of this writing they do have...
Read moreStopped in at the Cahill Diner for some breakfast with the wife before picking the kids up from Grandmas. We arrived around 9:30am this morning (Saturday) and we were able to seat ourselves right away, which was awesome. The place looked really well put toghether for a small diner and the staff were super friendly and welcoming.
My wife had an Ham and Cheese Omlet (her go to) which turned out great. She accidentally picked up the red jelly squirt bottle, mistaking it for ketchup, and poured a bit of it on her hashbrowns, but thankfully only to a small corner lol. So watch out, but the ketchup bottle was pretty clearly labeled (oroginal heinz bottle lol).
I had the Steak Benedict which was amazing, highly recommend. The hashbrowns were done perfectly as well. It was a super difficult choice because they had so many great tasting items on the menu, so we will definitely have to stop back in and try a couple other menu items.
Definitely a great breakfast stop, will be putting them on my breakfast go-to place...
Read moreI have been in love with Zoe's Diner since I first visited one with a very dear friend many years ago for a breakfast that will forever be cemented in my memories. The atmosphere has a touch of magic, a charm that makes its way into the meal, the conversations, the connection between all those blessed to share the space.
I visited Cahill Diner with my partner and their siblings, grateful for time with loved ones and eager to experience a new diner. I did not know it was part of, or the original root of, the Ze's chain, and was delighted to learn so!
The food here is superb, portions filling and quality high. I had the Cajun Breakfast, and it did not disappoint, each bite pleasing to all of my senses and the final forkful sufficiently topping off my appetite and leaving me with a lasting fullness, both in my stomach and my heart.
How grateful I am to be able to experience such wonders and the tiny moments with people who I care for, at places such as this where the love...
