Taqueria El Girasol — Restaurant in Inver Grove Heights

I really wanted to like this place — I came here specifically to try the birria tacos, but unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.

First off, the sanitation here is clearly lacking. The table was still sticky when we sat down, and everything — from the plates to the sauce containers — felt greasy and unclean. I tried to brush it off until I found what looked like a piece of red string or possibly hair inside my birria taco. It was tangled in with the meat and cheese — absolutely disgusting.

The moment I saw it, I stopped eating immediately. It completely ruined my appetite and made me question the hygiene practices of the entire kitchen. I didn’t even want to finish my meal or risk trying anything else.

I’m not one to leave bad reviews lightly, but this crossed a line. Until they take cleanliness seriously and fix these food safety concerns, I’d stay far away. Not...

This place knows it authentic tacos. It's amazing. Every taco I've had there. If you want the best, get the el pastor (pork) tacos. I'm not even a huge pork fan and this place has changed my entire preference of tacos to pork. That's how good they are. The size of the tacos are huge. You could get away with only ordering 2. Also they are ridiculously cheap. I hope he doesnt read this lol. They (sometimes) come with radish on the side which is really good on any taco. The salsas are fantastic. Homemade gorditas. Another reviewer said the owner gave dirty looks. He just looks that way lol. Not to mention all Hispanics tend to liven up when others are around. But he is the nicest guy ever when you talk with him. Family...

What are relief it was pulling up and seeing the front, just exudes delicious food awaits within! First had the chicken tacos, oh man, haven't had chicken tacos that good in a long time. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, moist and delicious. Had their green sauce with them, and put a little of the red sauce sitting on the table, perfect flavor cohesion! Sprinkle a little salt on top, put a squeeze of lime on before adding the sauce. Had to try the steak, and I'll tell you, very close to a favorite place of mine in Chicago!

Delicious meal, definitely come check out Taqueria El Girasol!! Glad I looked on maps to search for a place for tacos they stuck out to me.
