Can you imagine being the people who call parents “handlers” like they are zookeepers?😂😂😂😂 Or complaining about “unruly” children?
This place has no rules and that’s what makes it great. It’s for the people who don’t want their kids glued to a screen all day. This place is for Irvine-ites (and more) who want their kids to experience actual life instead of sanitized, helicopter, play time. There is water and mud. There are books, giant chess and checkers. Ping pong and fooseball. There are tons of trucks for kids to play with. Best of all there is a giant, wooden castle that has slides.
If no rules bother you; This isn’t for you. If mess bothers you; this is not for you. The only time I’ve ever had an issue here is from a very, angry, yelling woman (she was terrorizing little kids) who couldn’t handle the mud (DO NOT come if you can’t handle mess).
This is my favorite place to take my kids. It really has a nostalgia factor and reminds me of being a care —free kid. I’ve never seen unhappy kids. The staff is really friendly and you can tell they love...
Read moreEmployee came up to my son and knocked down the tower he had been building for past hour and then smirked about it. A grown man! One of the blocks fell on my son's foot and hurt his toe! When I called him out he said we knock them down before closing. This was still BEFORE closing, like 7-10 minutes before and he specifically knocked down my son's tower right into his face while leaving all other ones where no one was playing untouched, with one block landing on his foot. What the hell is wrong with employees here? I also noticed there were some kids in vests playing by themselves, I assume children getting dropped off by parents and then employees would call out their names to be picked up. A female employee was so demeaning to one of those kids, really really mean, I was shocked and hurt just to witness that. The kid was there by himself with no parents to stand up for him. I would never drop off my kid here and I would like to hear from their supervisor for injuring my son's foot and...
Read moreIt was a very long time ago (the early 1990's) when Adventure Playground became a place where my children had the opportunity to build their own fort! Hauling bits and pieces of lumber and other building materials we had acquired from various sources, my three daughters would venture off every weekend with their dad and diligently work on their project which spanned over several weeks time. This experience was rare in this day and age, and provided a wonderful learning environment where my girls developed skills that are not very common any more. Besides the bonding that occurs by sharing this time with their dad, the end result of all their hard work was a fort that they were then able to kick back in and enjoy the fruits of their labor.
I hadn't thought about Adventure Playground for many years until just this evening when watching a YouTube video about treehouses. Such wonderful memories flooded my mind and made me yearn for those idyllic days when my children were still...
