Lived there for 7 years with 4 years in the last apartment. Short summary includes Rent increases of about $200 every year, Common laundry service with faulty machines that waste money a lot and management response is to call the laundry service company yourself, No security or video surveillance around the complex so lot of mail loss of packages all the times, Appliances are oldest and cheapest that our grand parents have used so good luck, One maintenance guy who will do a patch work or work around always even if the replacement is necessary, Bugs infestation in the units, COX internet gives you 25MB speed maximum(with lot of signal noise) even if you have higher speed plan because of the old cables that run in the buildings do not support high speed internet (cox told me that 3 times over my stay here), Air conditioning installed is older than my parents age and hence electric bill is super high so putting temperature at 78 degrees will cost $300/month or something (Just look at the installed inside unit and decide your self since its bigger than coat closet). I have paid more than $500/month easy in summer. Above all you lose all your deposit on move out for cleaning, carpet replacement, paint etc. Based on these characteristics no wonder why management changes here every year.
In my check out experience, Jeff did the final walk through and took pictures when we moved out. He told us that it looks good and the only thing is cleaning charge most likely. Another staff told us the same on phone that since we stayed 4 years so expect deposit return. Then I found out that I have been charged about $700 out of my $800 deposit which is ridiculous. I spoke to Allison(Mgr) that it is not fair to charge anything other than cleaning but she told me that part of carpet replacement of about $400 is charged. I wasted at least a grand if not more on their laundry machines for being faulty which ate money all the time and not work but the manager did not have a courtesy to not charge for carpet replacement which should have been waved after living there for 4 years and with no major damage to the carpet except being dirty. If they chose to replace carpet for the next tenant then why pass the charge to residents. It looks like they find an excuse to not return the deposit once you leave. I give 0 star if possible not just based of my move out experience, but overall in terms of so many issues with the apartment complex and management attitude of zero courtesy.
Laundry Details: I highly encourage the current residents to complain big to the management about their faulty services like pathetic internet cabling and specially their laundry services that charges at least $4-$5 dollars extra every time you use their machines because on average 1 out of 4 wash and same for dryers have to be repeated for their fault. While speaking to other residents in the laundry one of them told me that she prints out monthly bank statements and then argue each month for credit from the management on charging for faulty machines that don't work after putting the money. So as per this calculation if I stayed 7 years and every week I lost atleast $5 then it will be $552weeks7years=$1820 assuming average laundry is done once a week using 2-3 machines at a time. Residents should not be courteous for keeping quite like I did because they will not be courteous to you when...
Read moreThe units are not terrible. However, the quality of life and staff are absolutely awful. During the time that I’ve lived here they have accumulated about a months worth of random repairs and work that obstructs parking, driving and getting to cars. I’m disabled and had to park over a football field away up hill for weeks because of this. They randomly shut the power off for an entire day and the staff is not responsive. I’ve called resident services multiple times but they do not answer. They only pick up the phone if you click the option that you want to rent a new unit. Some of the staff speak in an outright condescending manner and are completely unprofessional. My ac unit went out in the summer and we lived in 89 degree weather before they came to fix it for days. In the 6 months I have lived here at least one month in total I wasn’t even allowed to park in a parking spot even relatively close to my unit. The plants around my unit are always overgrown and have to be pushed through to get through walkways. I wonder every week what type of “construction” or “repairs” will pop up and cause me to move my car at 6 am or not have power until 8 pm or park my vehicle a mile away. The units are OK at best but infested with spiders. Would absolutely not recommend. 0 stars if possible.
New update as of Feb 12, 2019! Someone parked in my spot. There were and still are plenty of empty guest and resident spots left and they chose to park in my assigned spot. I called resident services...guess what! They still do not pick up the phone. So, I pressed the option to lease a new unit and what do ya know! Someone answered. However, I told her about the issue, her name was Charlene. She hung up on me. I tried to call back, but went straight to voicemail. This place just keeps getting worse. I cannot emphasize enough that you should...
Read moreTrue sense of community from the staff at Turtle Rock Vista
The team here put in amazing effort into minimizing disruption to our family during a recent displacement caused by an emergency situation in our unit over the Thanksgiving holidays. The Turtle Rock Vista team was responsive and communicative and we felt they owned the inconvenience right alongside us.
Our experience with the TR Vista team has always felt connected and leads to a sense of community. In this particular situation, it manifested as: • Sincere concern and obvious ownership of our inconvenience from the entire team at TR Vista.. personal interactions with Candace, Jenny, Andrew, Jarred, and John made us feel important and empathized with. It's obvious to ua that the importance of fostering community is something Irvine Company strives for and seeks in their front-line staff. • Regular status updates and estimates on unit progress and return date • Useful, actionable information about the process and changes in our move-in date
If there's any feedback it's that, at times, the experience felt a bit mechanical and process driven. Despite the TR Vista team's efforts to treat the entire process as neighbors, certain points in the process seemed to prioritize efficiency over all else. Nonetheless, we're grateful for the effort the team put in to coordinate works through the holidays and get us back in our...
