I have to agree with the customers complaining of lack of professional customer service. People have issues in their lives especially since COVID that prevents them from coming into the location to cancel membership. So why Planet Fitness or this location is not accommodating customers with phone cancellations of memberships or even online cancellations is beyond me. But this company will definitely allow you to sign up online, but does not have an option to cancel online. What also bothers me is that I keep telling these folks that I specifically chose the Vauxhall location for membership but however, by the time I completed checkout and they sent my agreement (which I did not have time to look at immediately because I just started a new job) the location had switched to the location that is right down the street to my house. But Daphne keeps telling me what I picked as if she was on the computer filling out the information for me. Their lack of empathy and customer accommodation is beyond terrible. My son has been dealing with Autism and ADHD in which we have been back and forth to the Children's Hospital all month for appointments and I couldn't even get them to accommodate any of my requests over the phone, even to transfer my membership to a different location. I explained all this and I still kept being told to come into the location. But when I threatened to cancel, I was offered the option to have my membership manually transferred to the location of my choice which I know I chose when I signed up. I knew I didn't chose Irvington because I refuse to shop locally ever since I have been having too many issues with local businesses not opening on time, lack of professionalism and lack of customer service empathy. To make matters worst I thought I was coming back to a gym I liked way before they had this location in Irvington, I was a member at the Whippany location back in 2009 - 2013 and they were better accommodating. These urban locations have a lot to learn about customer service. Trust me, I'm a 41 year old woman who has been doing CS since 1995. I am just waiting for my transfer and hope to get it soon as again, I can't even get a decent answer as to when I can expect an answer on my location transfer. Btw, I have the BC Membership where you can go to any gym, so why is there even a home gym 90 day requirement at all if I can go to any gym and workout. That makes no...
Read moreI have been a member – since about Sept/Nov 2018. I enrolled online, and frequented (daily) at your facility in Pineville, NC. The staff there were great and knew my by name. I remember our Hi-Five’s and talking about how our lives were progressing daily. I recently move to Irvington, NJ and quickly resumed my workout routine(s). However, I must regretfully say the reception from the rather young employees who seem to be in their teenage ages…especially the “Assistant Manager” called “Hashixxxx” (sorry I quickly forget her name). Apart from being very condescending to me, and constantly reminding me (boastfully) the she’s the assistant manager …proceeded to kick me out, based on – the same workout outfits that I use(d) – while a patron at the Pineville location. She accused me of being a “LUNK” when I tried to purchase headsets from the front desk. I never thought a day will come when people who work-out – as part of their daily routine – will be discriminated upon. This is the second time where she’s harassed me – while throwing her “Assistant manager” role at my face. Claiming that this is her Gym. I then told her that I WANT TO CANCELL MY MEMBERSHIP and I accused her of being DISCRIMINATORY (which I believe she is). She then proceeded to say that she’s TERMINTATING MY MEMBERSHIP. Please, with all due respect. I AM DONE WITH PLANET FITNESS. Regular people who workout routinely and take their health seriously – shouldn’t be discriminated against. Especially by teenagers who don’t even workout themselves.
PLEASE CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP. I have enrolled in a gym that is MORE TOLERANT to people like myself that...
Read moreI just want to say today I had the worst experience of my life. I’m a therapist and I work with children throughout the state. Today, I decided to take one of the kids I work with to this planet fitness. I had long pants and my uggs on. I checked in and brought the kid as my guest since I’m a black card member. Everything went fine. We went upstairs to work out and talk to my client. One of the staffs came up there and confronted him disrespectful about wearing jeans and uggs. Without hearing, he started pointing his fingers in my face and telling me he can take me out. I was shocked and obviously embarrassed since I was there with a kid and other people were there. He continued to yell and scream at me. He was shouting and said “oh it’s in the policy and you can look it up yourself.” Mind you, there were no signs anywhere in the gym. After ignoring and recording him, he went downstairs and stated he was going to cancel my membership. 5 minutes, here comes the manager Jasmine asking me to leave the gym with the kid. The kid is an autistic child. I was helping him. At that point, I had stopped using the machines. She came up to me and in my face asking me to leave the gym along with the child. When I went downstairs, she finally went to the office and came out with a sign that says no boots or jeans in the gym. She hit me with the sign. I will continue to file complaints and will take this matter as far as I can. This was very unprofessional and all of this didn’t...
