Extremely racist and rude staff. I had my father's EBT card information on my mobile phone, and I asked the lady at the cashier if I can enter it manually and she said no which I completely understand, although I've been able to use it at Super Fresh in Belleville, NJ's location several times without an issue which shocked me on why it wasn't acceptable here. Following along she said the person had to physically be there, which in this case was my father who was presentably next to me. Not wanting to argue my father gives his credit card and she immediately asked for two sources of ID as if this credit card did not belong to my father. She takes a good look at his name with the card he gave her. I knew what was going on and decided to not purchase the groceries on the counter due to the disrespect we received. I can't believe my father got asked to pull out two sources of ID to buy groceries. Typically this happens at a bar, not a grocery store. As a female in the military who walked into this store at approximately 12:15pm on Monday, December 5th in uniform, I took this action very offensive while trying to shop with my father. Especially after seeing an African American in front of me where he was taken care of in the nicest way possible. Unbelievable what me and my father had to go through today, we have got to stop this nonsense with race and discriminating others. I serve this country to stand up and defend the lovely Americans we all are and I respect everyday the ones who have served and fought. Even my fellow members in uniform such as officers, firefighters, armed forces, etc. To everyone I approach, I give respect everywhere. I simply do not understand why I couldn't receive that in return today. Really understand and take a moment to appreciate and respect those in uniform, we give up our lives everyday for the people in this country. Extremely disappointed in what I went through today with my father and I hope this never happens to anyone else. Read moreIf I could give this grocery store zero stars I would. My spouse went and bought us fish and we were super excited about the store due to all the produce and options and we’re planning on shopping here regularly.
However!!! Once we went to cook the fish it was mushy, gooey and wasn’t firm at all. We went back to exchange or receive a refund… & the seafood department told us we had to come back the same day to get a refund… for bad fish …. My husband even provided a sample of what the fish looked like when he cooked it for us…
I asked to speak to a manager and they ignored me 6 or 7x so I had to go find the manager myself…. It was so unbelievable….
I explained to the manager what had occurred and he mentioned a three day policy I made him aware that we didn’t cook it immediately and had it frozen so we wouldn’t have known… needless to say they did not refund my husband and only offered their fish that was barely preserved that I didn’t want by the end of the interaction…. I asked the manager if he “ would want his wife eating bad fish” and he said No…
Like the lack of humanity, customer service and just general kindness was so shocking. I put all my other groceries back and we will NEVER shop their again. Do not buy fish here they don’t preserve it and don’t accommodate…. And the general selfish of not caring about someone’s family enough to …. Then some guy on the outside of the store asked to see my receipt. I didn't know who he was. He said he works for the store and needed to see my receipt. I said first off, you should be on the inside of the store. Second I said you see the two cases of water with the red paid stickers on them. I have nothing else so why you need to see my receipt. I will have to think long and hard before I go back there again. And another thing, the prices in this store is double the prices of the same things in ShopRite.
