This restored former golf course has been transformed back to a wonderful natural wetlands and is being replanted with native plants. It is 136 acres with 2.25 miles of trails and boardwalks It’s an amazing open space with wonderful opportunities to observe migratory waterfowl and native year round species. It adjoins several other existing preserves which creates a massive ecological reserve area with plenty of room for hiking and birdwatching. There are numerous overlooks and benches scattered strategically to sit and relax and enjoy the views. During my last visit I was lucky to be able to see a large flock of Canada Geese land and enjoy the Devereaux Slough. Bring good shoes, binoculars, water and enjoy this amazing restored area.
