Visiting Betsy, the Giant Lobster Statue in the Florida Keys, was a delightful experience! This larger-than-life crustacean is a must-see landmark and an excellent spot for memorable photos. The sheer size and detail of the statue are impressive and make for a fantastic backdrop. The area around Betsy is well-maintained, and there’s ample space to capture the perfect shot without feeling rushed. It’s a great place to take a break and enjoy the quirky, charming side of the Keys. Plus, it’s conveniently located near local shops and eateries, making it easy to include in your travel itinerary. If you’re traveling through the Florida Keys, don’t miss the chance to stop by and snap a picture with Betsy. It’s a fun and unique experience that adds a special touch to any trip!

We seem to stop every time we visit the Keys. Many local artists are featured here. In addition to your traditional tourist trinkets. Always enjoy the photo opportunity in front of Betsy... the name of the huge Lobster. Betsy was originally commissioned by a restaurant owner in Marathon. But by the time Betsy was completed 5 years later. The restaurant had closed. Betsy was then purchased and displayed at a treasure village until the village was converted into a school. Betsy was then disassembled and put into storage until the Rain Barrel purchased and transported her to where she stands today. Betsy boasts as being the 2nd most photographed attraction in Florida... only behind the Southernmost Point buoy.

It’s Betsy the Lobster! Betsy the Lobster isn’t just a statue, she’s a Florida Keys icon! Standing proudly at Rain Barrel Village, this giant spiny lobster is impossible to miss and absolutely worth the stop. Whether you’re snapping a selfie, marveling at her impressive size, or just using her as an excuse to stretch your legs, Betsy is a must-see. She’s quirky, fun, and perfectly captures the playful spirit of the Keys. Plus, she’s right next to Rain Barrel Village, so after saying hi to Betsy, you can explore the shops and gardens for unique art and souvenirs. If you’re driving through, don’t just wave as you pass by, pull over and meet the Keys’ most famous crustacean!
