Great for train lovers: it's actually an historical railine and was an important part of the economic infrastructure which spurred Jackson and the surrounding farms and small towns to flourish. The train itself has a history and i just love how long it operated it active as a working piece of history that transported goods and people throughout this region in the 1900s. With the ingenious and modern repairs and upgrades completed over the years and various trains to be spotted on this and other lines in the area, it's a great stop. This tour surprised me and the friendly staff made a picturesque trainride through rolling hills, plains, and forests of Jackson and surrounding towns fun. When the old time train was still running that was an amazing ride on an example of 19th and 20th century locomotion technology. Throw a murder mystery in for fun and it's something I hope...
Read moreAbsolutely incredible experience. We have been on a lot of trains in Missouri and this one is by far the best. From the moment we stepped out of the car, the staff was greeting us. Ticket prices are extremely fair for the experience you have on the train. We loved all of the train stuff to play on and look at outside as we waited to board. The actors were so sweet and friendly. I believe every staff member made it a point to come to our table and talk to us. My son even got the opportunity to go see the conductor/engineer drive the train. Once in a lifetime experience for us and our son. The stop for s’mores was a fantastic surprise as we were not expecting that. The staff was just top knotch. I would highly recommend this train experience...
Read moreWonderful experience for the whole family! We have been on a lot of train rides all over the country and the kids often get bored after a little while, but not on this ride! So impressed with the volunteers here and how friendly and engaging they are, they brought around coloring pages and crafts for the kids, the actors were interactive and the train robbery show was great, the stop at the Western town had amazing backdrops, a campfire with s'mores, and more. The checkers boards at the station kept the kids entertained waiting for the train to depart, as we arrived extra early. The snack bar inside the station was also nice. This is a great train ride and we are so glad we made the drive from St Louis while...
