UPDATE FOR THE REVIEW BELOW: A few days after I left this review, the iFixNC location over in New Bern reached out to me to help me resolve this issue by taking the amount I paid and contributing it towards a new motherboard for my laptop! :)

Unfortunately my entire experience with iFixNC wasn’t that great, and I felt I should leave a review about my experiences to both help future customers and the company.
I had my fancy gaming laptop (bought for well over $1k) unexpectedly bluescreen on me despite being relatively new and in great physical condition. I first brought it to Geek Squad and after they looked it over they determined that I would be better off trying a local repair shop instead, because they didn’t have the proper resources to try and fix it. This is what lead me to go to iFixNC.
I dropped my laptop off on the 26th of June where I was told it should be done the next day. On the 27th I got a voicemail explaining that extra work was needed to be done as well as asking if I wanted to upgrade my drive. I called them back and said I was alright with the upgrade and understood that things come up, they told me that they would have the part in tomorrow and promised they would keep me updated. I thanked them before hanging up.
I followed-up on the 29th asking about the status of my laptop and its ordered part since I never got an update on the supposed date of arrival. I was told that the part still hadn’t arrived, but that they’d keep me updated. I thanked them again and hung up.
I followed-up again on the 2nd of July, asking again about the status of my laptop and its part since I wasn’t being given any updates on it. I was told again that the part wasn’t in, but they swear this time that they would have it ready by the 5th at the latest. Eventually the 5th came and went with no updates, and whenever I tried to call again on the 8th my calls weren’t going through. Fearing the worst, I asked a friend of mine to call and his call miraculously went through. When he asked about the status of my laptop he was told that it was the next one in line for getting its part.
At this point I began to get a bit agitated, I felt like I wasn’t being properly communicated with about anything going on and now my calls weren’t going through, so I went up to the shop in-person. Whenever I came in, I was told that my ordered part had already arrived and they were actually working with my laptop now. This confused me a bit because, while my friend was on the phone with them, they made it seem that my part hadn’t even arrived.
I told them I was okay with them continuing to work on my laptop, but asked to atleast see it before I go. The owner agreed before disappearing into the back for over half an hour before eventually returning with my laptop. He apologized for the delay and explained to me that it wasn’t labeled, meaning it very likely sat misplaced for heaven knows how long while I was being given the runaround on the phone. I wasn’t very happy with this but understood accidents happened and left.
I was eventually told that my laptop was fixed on the 10th and went on the 11th to pick it up. I paid just shy of $300 on total repairs, and was assured that it was fixed and running smoothly now. I took it home and booted it up, but once it actually started trying to run stuff on it, it bluescreened again. I called iFixNC back and explained what happened and was told over the phone it may actually be a motherboard issue and I would likely have to spend another couple hundred on trying to get it fixed.
I didn’t have that kind of money to spend on replacing the motherboard ontop of all the other repairs, so I returned on the 26th asking if I could sell the laptop to them instead. They told me the most they’d be willing to pay for it would be $50… Talk about salt in the wound.
Overall, my experience with this place wasn’t good. I poured nearly $300 down the drain for a laptop that is still just as broken as it was the day I dropped it off, and I didn’t even get a funny story to share after...
Read moreThe first experience (October 2016) I had with ifixnc was very pleasant, I had shattered my iPhone 6s+ screen on a Thursday night and went in on a Friday to get it fixed, the price was steep ($272 - including tax and a tempered glass protector) but it wasn't any different from the prices I was getting anywhere else. The overall repair took less than an hour if I remember correctly, the iPhone 6s+ was still relatively new and on the more expensive side at the time so they only one screen in stock, and it was a black one. At that point, I didn't even care that the screen was the wrong color, I just wanted it fixed. And that's exactly what they did. I would have gave them a 5 star rating after that time.
Now fast forward to today, I cracked my phone again just 3 days after I had gotten it fixed but the crack wasn't that bad and my lifeproof case covered it. I finally decided to go get it fixed again and happily was informed that the price had dropped significantly (obviously, it's been almost a year). I dropped my phone off just before 3pm and was asked to come back at 4, not a problem at all. I go get lunch, come back right after 4. When I walk in, the gentlemen informs me that they did not have the screen in stock at all, and that someone from havelock was bringing him one. Assumably, it had been an hour at this point so he must be at least somewhat close. So I asked for a time estimate, he calls the guy who is bringing the case and then informs me that he is just now leaving new bern, and I should give him until at least 6pm. I really just want my phone fixed at this point so I agree to wait 2 more hours. I drove around for a bit and at around 5:15 I head back to the store because at this point it was downpouring and I didn't feel like driving around or getting out of the car to do anything. At this point it had been 2 hours and 15 minutes, still no screen, still no phone repaired. I sat inside for about 30-45 minutes, and finally get my phone back. The repair itself was perfect and I have no complaints over that, however the customer service here really lacks. I watched another guy stand in the store while I waited, he stood there for over 30 minutes just waiting to buy a mirrored screen protector, and he had been bypassed 3 times by employees, not to mention one of them (a female) was speaking on the phone and even said "oh don't worry about it I'm in no rush". No rush? there's a waitin customer who was here even before you made your phone call? Very unprofessional. You guys are good at your repair skills but need serious help in the social aspect of...
Read moreMy one year old son dropped a cup of water on my 5 year olds Nintendo Switch and soon after the screen turned back and it wouldn’t charge. So I looked up my options and I saw ifixnc was cheaper and closer than Computer Warriors so I went to the location in Jacksonville for ifixnc. I walked in and was greeted nicely they let me know it would take 7-10 business days to fix it. They also told me that I can pay to get ahead of the line to get it fixed quicker, they call it the “VIP Line”. Well I decided to leave it with them because they told me computer warriors wouldn’t get it done as fast as them because they don’t work on products that have water damage and that ifixnc is cheaper. So I thought double win I’ll leave it with y'all. I reached out to them a total of 5 times without them being the one to reach out first since I wasn’t getting any updates. This was between July 3rd-July 25th. They told me they needed to order a new charging port for the switch July 10th and they’d have it by Saturday July 13th. So I reached out to them through google and they had they received the parts on Saturday but that they were overly busy and didn’t get to my switch. I asked them if I could pay for the VIP line and then was told no we don’t do the vip line for water damaged items. Which is annoying because I was told I could when I dropped the switch off. On July 24th I called and someone told me they weren’t going to let people go before my switch since it’s not fair to me being that I’ve waited so long for them to do nothing on my switch besides clean the motherboard. So by July 25th nothing was done on my switch so I got fed up and decided to pick it up and take it somewhere else. When I went to pick it up. They said they’ve had a lot of people paying for the vip line and that’s why my switch wasn’t being done. And there was nothing that I could do about it since mine had water damage and I couldn’t do that. They warned me and said I’ll probably have to end up buying a new switch and that computer warriors won’t be able to fix it because they don’t deal with water damage but they do! Definitely not coming back here and will be going to Computer warriors to get things done from now on because they did it a lot quicker even if it was more expensive and they are better at communication throughout the process without me having to reach out to them as much as I had to with Ifixnc. I took it to computer warriors in Wilmington and they were able to fix it in less than 24 hours being that they had the parts available in stock...
