Checkers — Restaurant in Jacksonville

Stopped by the N. Marine Blvd location late this afternoon and ordered a chili dog and a small strawberry pina colada slushie. When we pulled up to the window the staff was horsing around and the young man who came to greet us really didn't. He just took our payment and returned the change. No "hello, how are you?", no smile. He came back a few minutes later with our chili dog in the bag and handed it to us and let the window close and walked away. No "thank you" or "have a nice day" and NO SLUSHIE! We sat there a minute and he finally came back and opened the window and my husband told him we did not get our slushie. He said "I gave it to you" and never even tried to look in our vehicle to see it wasn't there. We again said, "No, you didn't. See?". We went back and forth again. He was visibly annoyed, then one of the female employees finally gave us our slushie and we told her thank you very much. Great food but I have never had such crappy service from this Checker's location. I don't know what was up this guy's butt but I'm going to assume this is his normal because he's allowed to get away with it. I will go to another Checker's or somewhere else. Was very specific and ordering our food. We ordered $25 worth of food, all without mayonnaise. My chicken sandwich was old hard and there was a big glob mayonnaise where the barbecue sauce was supposed to be and the fries tasted like it had been fried with donuts which was absolutely disgusting. Highly disappointed and would rather have just kept the $25 and ate ramen instead of a whole bunch of food that I can't eat. It actually got thrown away. After you put mayonnaise on something you cannot just scrape it off The taste lingers and it ruins the whole sandwich however had the mayonnaise not been called to my attention I probably wouldn't have noticed just how petrified the chicken was they tried to give me all my chicken sandwich which the meal itself was almost $10. Never again, feeling really let down. What is the point in paying someone just to show you how irrelevant you are??? The drive-thru window operator is the only thing about the checkers on North Marine boulevard that we like. He is kind, hardworking, and does this very best to make sure you get what you pay for. Even he won't eat there anymore. The people in the back don't know...

The only reason it's up to a 2 star rating is due to my burger today. Thanks to the "manager" not working. She seems to believe it's all about her. She yells at customers, accusing them of attitude when she makes a mistake. Our money tho. But we aren't to bother her while she's " working". However, someone else can go and get my food for me, I personally will not until she's been fired.

Checkers has the best burgers and hot dogs but really the owner needs to delete the manager. REMEMBER SHE'S ALWAYS RIGHT AND YOU'RE NOT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO ORDER AND RECEIVE IT CORRECTLY. SHE DOES NOT WANT TO KEEP YOU AS A CUSTOMER.

I would love to have a few words with the owner. The sad thing is the closest Checkers is in Wilmington, not owned by same owner, corporate all the way. This was my second visit in over 4 years. I used to get lunch there 3-4 times a week. Don't understand why they don't have another location on the south side of Jacksonville. I really miss the first restaurant on western bl. Remember don't complain about your order or she'll accuse you of attitude when its all her mistake and she doesn't want...
