Mussallem Galleries — Attraction in Jacksonville

I can't recommend Mussallem's highly enough. Their selection of beautiful rugs, fine art, and other pieces is absolutely extraordinary. I can't believe we have a place like this in NE Florida - it surpasses any gallery I've ever visited in NYC, LA, DC, etc. It feels like you are stepping into a world-renowned museum.

That said, Mussallem's has a variety of items in every price range - from $50 to much higher, so anyone who appreciates art and quality can find something. They will work with you to help you take home pieces that you love.

Most of all, Mussallem's has incredible CUSTOMER SERVICE. Despite the phenomenal art, the best part of this place is their people. It's obvious that they love and appreciate their customers. They make you feel completely at home when you step in the door and help you with anything and everything. There is no sales pitch, just complete dedication to learning your wants and needs and helping you find something that will add that special touch to your home or business. You'll get an amazing education as they guide you through the gallery.

I was excited to visit the Mussallem Galleries after reading the glowing reviews online. I brought my fiancé here to take a tour and possibly make a purchase. Some things looked expensive in the pictures, but the website insisted that with prices starting at $50 there was a piece for everyone. So, we made the 2 hour drive to check this place out. When we walked in, we were greeted with judgmental stares from the three men behind the counter. Sure, we’re young so we don’t look like we have money to spend, but the website made it seem like all were welcome. One of the men offered to “show us around” and proceeded to rush us around the lobby, skipping the details about the art and antiques and only emphasizing the price to make it clear that he believed we couldn’t afford it. He then handed us a brochure insisting that we should “try the virtual tour” and then promptly escorted us to the door. We were kicked out for not looking wealthy enough. Mussallem Galleries, established in 1897, specializes in oriental style rugs and has a immense (so large you can easily get lost large haha) collection of unique, antique and contemporary art pieces that are just beautiful. They have amazing art from so many countries and artists that I’m sure whatever your interests are, you can find something. I was warmly welcomed by Marie who took me around and gave me unique insights into much of the art. I really hope to come back to continue exploring and find the piece(s) that speak to me.
