I called to find a relative at the Irving park Cemetery on February 3rd 2020 and i talked to Sylvia and she told me where this person is located at i wrote it down i though later in the day i was going to be close to the Cemetery i would go by i walked in to the office and once again i talked to Sylvia she handed me a map of the Cemetery and told me there was NO maintenance Crews on the Grounds that i would have to walk in the section called the Meadows. What i saw was over grown weeds over a few of the headstones and Broken tree branches laying on top of the Headstones i picked up and removed them off the headstones and the trees where dead. i walk back in the office to talk to Sylvia and she tells me after a haif hour of walking in a Flooded Cemetery that this person i am looking for does not have a headstone and told me that i need to buy one for this person and i was sent out there on a wild goose chase and i would think looking a what they have that this person would know what they have in the Cemetery Updated February 11th 2020 went back to the Irving Park Cemetery and walked into the office to talk to Sylvia to find out where the grave site is located this Morning & I was told that my review affected her and told me to take down the review. I Told her it was the truth about what happened the last time and she doesn't know how to do the job she has and if there is not grave marker let the people know instead of sending them on a wild goose chase in a Cemetery and sending them to the wrong area of...
Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews but I wanted to give credit, where credit is due. I worked with Irving Park Cemetery and Yanni Matsias closely for the arrangements after the sudden loss of my mother. He had such empathy and compassion. He was also very professional and attentive to our family’s needs by answering all of our questions - whilst we were all grieving for my mom. He was so patient with us. Nowadays it’s rare to find people who truly care about others. He was so sincere, even opened up to me on how he personally understood sudden loss, because he had lost his own father when he was in his teens. I think that’s what carried over and made him such a caring and compassionate person.
Loss of a loved one is overwhelming to say the least— but Yanni made this part of the process easy for us. If you happen to be online, searching through reviews, pressured to find the RIGHT cemetery, as I was.. you will be in great hands with Irving Park Cemetery and the staff, like Yanni. After all was said and done, I felt at ease and at peace knowing I made the best decision for my mother’s final resting place. I’m...
Read moreWe recently had the privilege of working with Sylvia at Irving Park Cemetery, and I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional care and professionalism she provided throughout the process of arranging my father’s burial.
From our first meeting, Sylvia demonstrated a remarkable level of compassion, attention to detail, and genuine dedication. She guided us through every step with grace and clarity, offering thoughtful options and recommendations that truly honored my father’s memory. Her patience and kindness, especially toward my 85-year-old mother, did not go unnoticed. She answered every question thoroughly, with warmth and understanding.
The graveside service was beautifully arranged, and the grounds crew conducted themselves with the utmost respect and dignity, which meant so much to our family. Every detail was handled flawlessly, and the entire experience brought us comfort during a very difficult time.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Sylvia and Irving Park Cemetery to anyone seeking a place and people who truly care. Their commitment to excellence and compassion made all...
