TL;DR If you live in the Chicagoland area, have any interest in skiing whatsoever, and need a quality shop with tremendous staff and fiercely competitive pricing, look no further.
Full: I nabbed a parking spot and walked in looking to upgrade from my old boots. The manager Piotr recognized me from a phone call and immediately sat me down for measurements and Q&A. He learned about my style, experience, goals, and stomping grounds before even looking at product. When we started fitting, he had me try on as many different pairs as I could, varying flex, fit, and function. Their inventory was extensive and impressive, and his familiarity and recollection was formidable. He had me in everything from super squishy beginner boots to rock hard racers, just to get a feel for where my sweet spot was. I asked him about a pair of Fischers I had seen on their site (a website that also deserves lots of kudos, by the way) and he immediately grabbed them for me, not worried about selling me something more expensive. I ultimately ended up with the pair I asked about. Not only where they over half off most retail prices elsewhere and on-line, but Piotr seemed genuinely happy to just get me into something that made me happy, regardless of what it was. He also made sure I got discounts on some wax scrapers, and that I knew about their tuning/boot-bumping capabilities for customers. I would wholeheartedly recommend this business and their service, regardless if you're just finding skiing or if you've always known...

I left the store and drove to Viking store on Fullerton where the staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and helped me pick the right boots for me and performed all the measurements to my full satisfaction.By the way they stayed in the store almost one hour after closing time and when I left they thanked me for my business. So next time when you look for ski products go to Viking store on Fullerton not far from this place. You will be very happy and nobody will be...
Read moreI've been going to Viking for years (not a lot of choices, the midwest is too flat), but with the Epic Local in tow, and flight later that evening, the timing was right when this popped up on Google maps....so I swung by the other week and found the place to be full of high quality, modern and unique ski gear and clothing at a reasonable price. The guy (can't recall his name) was very knowledgable and helpful. I'm very happy with my purchases and will definitely be...
