The site was not crowded, the exhibits are plentiful. There is a smaller air force one on site as well as the Texas White House. We enjoyed seeing all the wildlife on site free to roam and play. We saw whole herds of deer running everywhere, bison and longhorn cattle freely grazing. This historical site was very educational and there is something that will appeal for every age group for sure! The rangers are top notch as well. Though I do recommend the site improve signage in the area approaching the park from miles away. Because it can be somewhat confusing when you're looking for the national park and you end up at the state park with the same or similar name. But the national site can be found at the back of the state park or by going down the road a short bit further. But signage inside the park or a ranger on duty at the entrance shack would definitely be helpful. Even if staff have been cut do to the...

Very disappointing. Came all the way here from Chicago to see basically nothing. The house and hangar (the two stars of the show) are blocked off and hidden from view. One cannot get to within 200-300 yards of the house. The website mentions that both the house and hangar are closed until late 2025, but it doesn’t mention that the places also cannot be seen! The park should allow for the public (that drove a long distance from either Austin or San Antonio) to at least get a decent view of the 2 places from some designated spot instead of having everything blocked. Very little regard for those who have come a long way. It was very nice to see the family plot, airstrip, and Herefords, but it was hardly worth the trip. Again, extremely disappointing. However, I will return after the house and hangar...

We spent 3 hours at the LBJ ranch on a nice spring day with our teenagers and older daughter and her service dog. It is a fascinating and intimate look at LBJ's life and connection to the land, family history, and Texas lifestyle and values. It was an easy walking tour around the grounds to include for the dog (though there are lots of burrs, so fortunately we had booties for him -- other people with dogs were having a hard time). Most of the displays are relatively static, so there is not much of a "Wow!" factor if you are looking for something really exciting. But if you are interested in how he lived to include while President and VP, it is a personal and engaging glimpse into an important president's life. There is no place to eat, but there is a modest gift shop, and...

The historical significance of the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park covers the birth, life, and history of the President who signed the #1968VotingRightsAct. Go to the Visitor Center first to obtain the best information and maps. His boyhood home is located near the Visitor Center, along with his family's settlement location. Another interesting fact: The Ranch is the only working Ranch in the NPS ststem. Great educational experience!
