My boyfriend and I just visited Gather’s glassblowing studio in Providence to try our hand at an ice cream making class in a conjoint space. It was the perfect Valentine’s Day activity for a couple like us who bonded over ice cream on our first date, eating it outside on a cold evening in October. The ice cream class was phenomenal. Steve was a wonderful teacher, both in his ice cream making savvy and fun personality. The way he paced the class and labeled ingredients was very approachable. In learning from him and getting to briefly chat with the gentlemen down in the glassblowing studio, Gather’s passion for building community through fun, hands-on activities is so clear. The pint of maple oreo I concocted during the class was so insane (and now almost gone). After this experience, we will be so excited to return to Providence for a glassblowing class and then to Johnston for the farm and goat hikes. The greater RI community thrives on the kind of work Gather is doing, and I hope others can experience the joy they bring as they expand...

Was excited to discover we could still go pet the babies because that was our favorite early spring activity. It’s much smaller and there are only a few animals, but it’s also less busy and it was nice to have the place almost to ourselves. The goats are very entertaining with their antics, yet Aiden is clearly the dominant alpha in the herd, as they respond quickly to her commands and directions.
