Tried going into the store a couple times since the "pandemic" and been asked to wear a mask or leave both times. here's a thought...heart disease is the leading cause of death in the US, why not boycott McDonald's and set a height and weight limit for store patrons? in most cases, statistically speaking, heart disease is 100% preventable...yet nobody bats an eye. COVID hits, and all of the sudden the world ends when an individual doesn't wear a mask? Granted the folks in the store are probably just following thru with company policy, but don't tell me that you're "sorry" when you mandate me to wear a mask. If you truly were sorry, you wouldn't be working there to begin with. I am a small business owner, and have an additional job besides that. I regularly require fasteners, supplies, etc. ACE had been my "go-to" place for years. It's a shame to see what it has become. I will not be using ACE for my needs any longer...nor should anyone that reads this. The "powers that be" at this establishment may believe they are promoting a healthy perception by pushing the mask mandate, but the facts speak for themselves, as far as public health and survivability are concerned. The old adage, "just following orders," only stretches so far. I fully understand there are health concerns, and we are faced with difficult questions every day....but these policies that are wrongly being enforced are undoubtedly not the answer. You wear your mask, and let me choose what to do with mine. It's not anyone else's right to make that...
Read moreI went in to buy a snow blower today, and the Store Manager was great. He took time to explain the equipment and while I ran errands he put gas in and started my new snow blower ensuring it was ready when I came back - which is when their customer service fell apart. The Assistant Store manager was called over during my check-out due to a problem with a discount I was eligible to receive. Rather than troubleshooting, he told me that I was not eligible because the item was on sale (which according to the store manager it was priced at an every day low price and the item never goes on sale). I tried explaining that the item was not on sale, but he cut me off and radioed his manager - who told him my discount was eligible. Rather than thanking me for my service or my business, he proceeded to tell me how I was wrong and how sale items are not eligible for a discount. We have been faithful ACE customers for 8+ years in the Missoula market, and it is really disappointing to see such a marked difference in store leadership within the Kalispell store. My thanks to the General Manager for his initial assistance - without it - I would have walked away from this purchase. The Assistant Store Manager needs a refresher course in...
Read moreBeing an Ex Ace Hardware employee from California I can truly appreciate this store, its layout & product merchandising. This is the type of store both men & women can enjoy. It's stocked with everything you need for D-I-Y projects around your home! We all know men love a hardware store that offers everything from painting to plumbing repairs as well as yard equipment not limited to a weed eater & lawn mower. This place has riding mowers, compressors and larger style outdoor equipment for your needs. Women are treated to decorative knick knacks, bbq sauces, yard decos, and an entire array of household cleaning products including the environmentally kid & pet safe line. The staff is very friendly & knowledgeable about their line of products as well as giving you sound advice on how to repair things you may not be all to certain of. Great store. Wish more of these types of stores were available in select spots of California where they truly lack. ACE! IT'S MY FAVORITE...
