I was run off the road while traveling north on Hwy 71 near this area (it appears as though Google doesn't allow reviews on highways). A vehicle that was in way too much of a hurry drove up very quickly and got up all on me and flashed their lights at me. I was afraid that they were going to hit me, so I veered off onto the shoulder of the highway on the left-hand side. The car then proceeded to zoom past me. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS ROUTE FOR OUT OF TOWNERS. There is too much funny business going on by the local KC drivers. Their driving is very unpredictable, unsafe, and dangerous. So many of them do not care about others on the road. On the way back later the same evening heading southbound I encountered a serious accident. I also don't like that there are stop lights on the highway, cross streets, and varying speed limits of 45 mph - 65 mph. It's weird and confusing. The lane stripping is in desperate need of being re-done. It's very hard to see and people do not drive in the lanes. I would complain to the DOT, except that they tell me that they are way too busy and...

Nothing much to say about this lake other than it's poorly kept up, is dirty, tons of constant, loud music whenever it's warm outside.... but even with all of that, it's a beautiful piece of nature in the third district and the people living in the area need something worth looking at too. I just wish the people that frequented this body of water cared enough to pick up after themselves and take care of it. Has real potential. I've lived near this lake for 7 years now and it's consistently filled with trash and subsequent cats and racoons alike eating said trash.
Even more beautiful when it's frozen. Don't wait until the surrounding property taxes start rising to start taking care of this pretty...

There is a duck who needs help. One of his legs is messed up. Other than that, we enjoyed our visit. Staying close to it now so we will be visiting regularly. Next visit though, I will take a bag to pick up trash while I'm walking around. I observed plenty of trash cans but someone must have been too tired to put it in the can. A really nice place.
