I recently moved in to the building and was excited to have the combine downstairs. Sadly, my first visit was terrible from the moment I walked in. I greeted the 2 women behind the register and was met with frowns and side conversations so I asked if I could seat myself and they said, yes wherever. So I sat at a table and waited a good 5-10 mins. before a different man (Im Assuming manager) came by to ask if I was "okay". I was surprised and responded "yeah im fine, but id like to order a drink." So he finally took that order (a mixed drink and a water) and asked if i wanted a menu. I said yes please and he came back with one. For a few minutes he seemed to have forgotten my water but eventually i got that. The restaurant had 4 other people in it besides me, so not busy at all. I then waited about 20 minutes before a bartender came by asking if this drink was mine. I confirmed it was was and that i had been waiting a while. She explained that she had thrown away the ticket and didn't know where it went. Apparently, the man that took my order never followed up to bring me my drink. Then about 10 mins later a large pizza slice comes out to my table, but I had ordered a whole pizza. I told the girl who brought it that it was Incorrect and she seemed flustered and went to get the manager. He came by and asked for clarification. I restated my original order and we both pointed to it on the menu to be clear. We both confirmed, he said okay, and took the pizza slice away. At this point, I've been waiting 50 minutes for my food and am very frustrated and disappointed. Finally the pizza came out and I am waiting to pay. A few minutes pass before a young girl comes by with a little machine to pay and tells me my total. I hand her my card then ask to see my ticket because the total sounded much higher than I expected. I asked for a print out she said, "okay just click through these options". I did. she left then brought me a printed receipt. The pizza price was higher than the menu stated by $11. I asked for clarification but she had none and offered to get her manager. He came by and explained that my pizza was specialty and therefore more expensive than the one he had pointed to and I confirmed earlier. This was misleading and annoying. I said okay that's fine bc at this point I'm so tired and just want to go home. He must have seen my frustration and asked "is this your first time here? That felt rude bc its irrelevant to my poor experience, and it felt like he was not taking accountability for misleading me or the poor service. I responded, "yes it was my first time" and he just nodded and smiled. Very weird. I then hand my card to the waitress to pay and to my surprise she tells me I already paid. I was confused and she said yeah it's done. This meant she had swiped my card earlier without telling me and before I got my Total explained and reviewed by the manager. Super unprofessional. I was so thankful to finally be able to leave and I'm not even hungry anymore. All that and a $32 pizza is not worth it at all. There's lots of places to get good pizza in the city that are professional and have...
Read moreMy husband and I had eaten here only one time before and the experience was excellent. We had talked about coming back several times. On Wed, we did so and the service/my food was the complete opposite. We waited 10 min to be acknowledged and a drink order taken. Our waters came quickly with a verbal comment from our server that the menu would come next. 20 min later and still without menu, I walked to the entry counter asking for menus. My intent was with the assumption that they were busy and this would be of help to them; especially when I saw our server filling up ketchup cups on the counter. I was "advised" by a manager/supervisor standing there as well, that I should return to the table and he would bring us our menus. I stated that I was just trying to be helpful, but her response was the same, only this time she POINTED me back in that direction. The menus came 10 minutes later. The server returned 10 minutes later to take the order. Our food arrived 20 min later. In summation: We got to the place at 3:05, we got our food at 4:15. I know, I know; why did we stay, you ask. For one reason only; our Grandson. We were engaged with him and rather "removed" from the situation. He returned home yesterday, and today I returned to reality; SOMETHING needed to be said about the service. Now, I will briefly address my food. Because I LOVE peanut butter and have NEVER seen a Fluffernutter sandwich on a menu, that is what I ordered. My husband took a photo of what was between the 2 slices of bread...very little. Oh, I ate it; I was REALLY hungry by that time. Signed, "It Will Be Awhile Before (or ever) I Go Back" ...
Read moreI can close to closing time about 40 minutes prior. The counter person was either tired or overwhelmed. I had heard such wonderful things about the vibe and food. So I will be back. But the late night service was not what I expected. I wanted to order on doordash but decided to go in... since it was a little confusing on the wings. I was greeted with we are only serving pizza. I said I had a question about the wings anyway... for future since I wanted to order via doordash earlier I wasn't sure. I was given the same. We only have pizza. This frazzled me. In the middle of placing my order the kitchen said no more pizza. I was confused again, and was like so can I order or no... they clarified I was the last order. I just rushed and picked. Then was asked if I wanted anything else. What else can I order? She goes drinks, cookies and brownies. I original had a 50+ dollar order. Salad, wings and pizza and a brownie. I said no. I think my disappointment, was on my face.
Thoughts: my first experiences was maybe indicative to them closing up shop. But I'm going to go back and try again. The pizza was worth a...
