Wailua River — Attraction in Kauai

Near-can't-miss experience on Kauai. Certainly a can't-miss if you're in the area. We rented kayaks from Kayak Kauai. All the kayak rental shops on the Wailua have a limited number of independent kayaks they rent out every day (reserving most for guided tours). So make sure to book a few days in advance. Great experience kayaking up and down river. Good for beginners, as I was! Hike to secret waterfall moderate. Be prepared to get muddy if it's recently rained. Slippery and messy but totally worth it! Once you arrive to waterfall, you feel peace and accomplishment!! So amazing. I high recommend water shoes for entire trek.
