Aloha Roastery — Restaurant in Kauai

I hate leaving bad reviews for small businesses but I feel like I have to let people know that the lattes are not good. As someone from LA and NY, based on the look of this place, I expected a similar quality. The matcha latte tasted like straight up milk, either as a result of too much milk ratio, or matcha quality so poor that there isn’t much of a matcha taste. Also, I ordered a 12oz but was given a 16oz, and was told that the matcha quantity is the same, but the 16 has extra milk (not sure if that sounds right to anyone??) The regular latte, though better, was also not great. Espresso came through better in flavor, but still was lacking. We debated asking for a refund but decided against it, so as not to cause fuss. However I will never come back here. It was a waste of money IMO. Get diner coffee from anywhere else and pay a fraction...

What a delightful place to stop in and have a hot brew of coffee. It was 3:00 in the afternoon and we were in search of a decent cup of coffee near where we were staying.

My expectations before entering that this would be a standard generic coffee shop. Boy, I was in for a surprise.

The ambience of the place is the most striking thing. The room is brightly lit with white interior. In short it is beautiful and a sharp contrast to what one would expect to find. It felt trendy and upbeat.

The ladies behind the counter were extremely nice and helpful in helping us navigate the selections.

Strongly recommend that you stop by to check this place out.

Oh, for the coffee, I have one word:...

Would give a 0, if that was an option.

If you are looking for good coffee and good service, do not bother going here. The high priced filter coffee was lukewarm and weak. Even weak coffee I would expect to be served hot. Missed the mark on all fronts. The door front advertises baked goods but there was one sad scone on the shelf at 10am. Cashier/barista was not particularly friendly. Complete disappointment :(.
