I'm a local that has been coming here for upwards of 15+ years and I’m going to break it down for everyone who’s thinking of coming here.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I came here with a camp group and I was the counselor. We called in the morning to find out what time we should arrive. The woman on the phone said 11. We got there at 10 Am to eat lunch, they then told us they open at 12. After lunch we started taking kids to the bathroom in preparation for the rides. We were kicked out of 3/4 bathrooms because they were closed. We asked where were supposed to take them and they told us to wait till 12. It was 10:45 at this point. We complained saying we have 62 kids waiting to use the amusement park who needed to use the bathroom. She then again told us she didn’t make the rules and had to wait, unfortunately we had to sneak them into the bathroom in order for our kids not to pee their pants. In order to accommodate us, they told us we could use the haunted house in the meantime until the park opened. We took our kids to the haunted house in the 90 degree weather we waited for 25 min, our kids were sweating. No worker showed up, until another worker came over to tell us the haunted house doesn’t open until 1. Again frustrated, our kids went to the arcade spent almost all their money they had out of pure boredom. Finally at 12 one ride opened. I repeat one ride. That one ride ran for 45 min. So they went on the same ride over and over again. Then the same worker closed that ride and opened the next. Clearly low on staff, and a disrespectful staff at that. We had 3 kids who threw up from dehydration and they wouldn’t give them a cup of water unless we paid 50c each. We fought it but our kids needed water so we paid. I personally went to get a hot dog and fries for lunch. I believe I paid $9 all together, the hot dog was disgusting, it definitely had some type of mold attacheted it was sitting on the grill and the bun was stale I cut the hot dog on the end to try a piece and it was horrible I threw it out and went right back up and stated I wanted a refund. She then said we do not give refunds on food items. I said this is clearly not edible and wanted a refund. As I complained more and more, A man came over yelling and said here’s a $1. I said I paid $4 for this and he said well I can’t give you a full refund for something you ate. I said I didn’t eat it they threw it out. As we went back and forth they called a manger and she said she would not give me a refund and asked me to leave the park. Obviously I said no because I am the camp counselor and let it go. Rides were either not working, or not running, due to a shortage of staff. At the end of the day, we needed to count the kids and get them on the bus. It was 90 degrees and we did not want our kids in the sun so we attempted to put them inside, in the shade as we had already had three kids be a victim of the heat. They kicked us out and said it was reserved for paying customer and needed to leave. I stated we would only be there 2 minutes in order to count them and get straight on the bus she said again she doesn’t make the rules and we needed to wait. By far the rudest and most inconsiderate amusement park we have ever been to. We will not be coming back and I would never come here on my free time. Practically the biggest waste of money and rudest staff we’ve ever had...
Read moreIf I could give this place ZERO STARS, I absolutely would-it doesn’t even deserve the one star I’m forced to leave. I usually don’t write reviews, but what happened at Keansburg Amusement Park was beyond infuriating, and I feel obligated to warn others — especially people of color, Muslims, or anyone who values basic human decency, honesty, and respect. My friends and I planned this trip days in advance. Just to be safe, we called the park an hour before arriving to confirm everything was open. The person on the phone clearly told us the park was open and the rides were operating as usual. So we drove out, excited and ready to enjoy our day — only to be completely blindsided. The moment we got there, the teen girl working the ticket booth casually tells us, with a straight face, that “all the rides are closed because no one showed up.” Huh? We literally just called. There was no update on the website, no voicemail, no signs, and no announcement warning us of this so-called “closure.” Her tone was flat-out dismissive — like we were wasting her time just for existing. The whole situation felt off, and we were left confused, disappointed, and deeply frustrated. But what happened next made it crystal clear that this wasn’t just a miscommunication — it was something much uglier. As we were walking away, hurt and trying to figure out what just happened, we saw another group clearly not Muslims approach the same exact girl at the booth. Suddenly, the entire park came to life. Rides spinning, music blasting, workers at their posts. Just like that. Not even ten minutes had passed. Nothing changed except the people asking to come in. That wasn’t an accident. That wasn’t bad timing. That was blatant discrimination — right in our faces. We were lied to, shut out, and disrespected because of what we looked like and what we represented. And the fact that they thought they could get away with it without consequences says everything about this park’s standards. In 2025, this kind of treatment is not just unprofessional — it’s disgusting, harmful, and totally unacceptable. If you’re going to be that bold about excluding people, at least be honest instead of hiding behind weak excuses. Don’t waste people’s time, energy, and money while pretending you’re “closed” just because you’re too spineless to admit your prejudice. The management here should be ashamed. If this is how Keansburg Amusement Park chooses to operate — lying to customers, humiliating them, and treating them as if they’re disposable — then they deserve to be shut down. Completely. To the girl who lied to our faces: grow up. To the management who allows this behavior: shame on you. To anyone thinking about visiting this place: do yourself a favor and stay far, far away. This isn’t just a bad experience. This was straight-up discrimination masked as “policy.” I will never step foot in this park again, and I’ll make sure everyone I know does the same. Keansburg, you failed on...
