Windmont Park — Attraction in Kewanee

Such a pretty park. Time seems to stop here. There are almost always people walking here, fishing here or playing basketball or that on their new courts. Today however, I cleaned up a lot of garbage in the water in the park. I got 13 big buckets full of plastic grocery bags, water bottles, bait containers, fishing line, broken glass and other random trash. I couldn't take seeing the park like that anymore. Some people have no respect for Nature, parks, or even other humans because other people have to clean up their trash that these lazy people...

This is simply a great park! I have enjoyed using the park during the past few months to take a nice walk around the lagoon. Of course, there are also many other things to do at this park. There is two playgrounds for the kids, an enclosed shelter and two open shelters. There is also tennis courts and a baseball/softball diamond.

I would have given this review 5 stars if lights around the park were replaced. I’m usually a night walker and the last time I visited, I counted at least 7 lights that were burned out on...

Park is still great but there is some creepy dude who is always following the kids around and telling them don’t do this don’t do that and says he works for the park. He drives a blue truck with side boxes on it.. the man is a grown man always trying to play with the kids. Or yell at them. It’s pretty creepy. Hopefully he gets chased off eventually. And hopefully the park realizes he is telling people he works for them.
