Our group of 16 (8 adults + 8 children, half of whom were teens) stayed here just after July 4th this year. We had originally booked another Pocono Mountain Rentals property but the owners of that property decided at the last minute to use the property themselves and it seems their request was processed around the same time as ours, so we had to look for another property. Bob (who runs the operation) made things great by offering us a slightly bigger property for the same price as the one that became unavailable. We stayed in the Red Rock home and we know from pricing it out earlier that it was more expensive than our original booking. This was a great goodwill gesture and well appreciated by us. When we had questions a couple of times and called during office hours, staff were quick to help us out. Bob, too, was responsive when we tried to reach him. Upon arrival, we were happy with the house’s appearance inside and out. It was attractive, well laid out, spacious enough and had some really nice amenities such as a hot tub, fire pit, a Weber grill on the (spacious) deck, pool table, arcade game, and passes for several people to access Lake Harmony (which is not accessible by the general public). There were enough beds to accommodate everyone and the dining table inside was able to fit most of us. Some of the kids were more than happy to eat downstairs and hang out and there is also picnic table seating on the deck for those who wished to dine al fresco. Loved that it was 3 levels, too, so that we were not all on top of each other all the time and had the ability to spread out as desired. Parking available for several cars and very easily accommodated our group's 4 vehicle. The property is also set back from the road and the distance between houses was also a big plus, so there was no disturbance from others. The feedback from most of the group was positive. There were a couple of niggles such as one bathroom door not locking, the backyard could use better lighting at nighttime (since fire pit is back there), a couple of beds being a little creaky, and some minor water damage in one of the bathrooms. Again, these were not huge problems just small nuisances that could be easily addressed. The location was great – lots of trees and deer that came pretty close to you if you fed them (the cleaning staff said it was okay to do so). That Lake Harmony was a walkable distance away for a big plus. There were 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms so each family in our group was able to have their own ā€œprivateā€ bathroom that only their family members would use. Would definitely rent Red Rock again, or another Pocono Mountain Rentals property. For those who have never rented a cabin like this: beware that while they do provide you with toilet paper & trash bags, it’s just enough to tide you over until you are able to pick up your own supplies. You shouldn’t expect a stockpile of such goods to last you the whole stay, especially of you have a high # of occupants and plan to stay more than a couple of days. That’s not at all a complaint – just a heads up. Also note that not all bedrooms had A/C so some couples were a little hot (again, in early July). The living rooms were didn't have tons of seating so if you have a larger group and want to watch or play something altogether, it will be a little challenging. Having a list of nearby grocery stores and restaurants would have been helpful but we managed and looked them up online PROS: Efficient amount of plates, cups, forks, and kitchen supplies available (even for our group of 16). Nice hot tub. Lovely location and distance to the lake. Peaceful, tall trees. Main public areas were well air-conditioned. Great exhaust on the stove. Pool table was nice. Excellent barbecue grill and outdoor seating areas. Lovely tall windows that let in a lot of light. Overall, would rate this experience a solid 4 stars, if not slightly higher.

The house smelt like cigarettes and animals. The beds upstairs had dead bugs, ash, dirt, etc all over the sheets! Carpet was heavily stained. The house was not wiped down before we arrived!it was ā€œsurfaceā€ cleaned but sticky everywhere with spilt food in the fridge drawers. The tvs and windows had finger marks smeared all over them… there was trash under stair well with popped water balloons everywhere. The bathrooms were filthy and the shower had a disgusting liner with mold growing at the bottom of it. Nails sticking out on deck that I jabbed my toe on. The pillows!!!!! Oh my gosh the pillows are tiny it’s like a little pillow case stuffed with a little bit of cotton I’ve never seen such a thing! Ugh very disappointed and was not comfortable letting my baby crawl around in this house….. all my kids stayed in the same rooms because the beds had bugs and filth in them upstairs. Not okay! *Edit: instead of the company being apologetic they are defensive. Don’t try and turn it around on me and start asking all these questions as if I’m lying because I didn’t complain right when we got there! I was not going to ruin my families time over something I could adjust so instead of complaining and dealing with your terrible company on my husbands birthday I cleaned up the previous renters mess In places were we’d be staying and made sleeping adjustments! I was never looking for a refund of any sort and never asked! but only to make you aware your housekeepers did a terrible job if they even entered that unit before we arrived! Just because you have rules in place about animals doesn’t keep people from bringing them and it certainly does not take the stank smell out of this unit! We drove 2 hours and paid nearly $3,000 to stay at this rental for my husbands birthday so instead of fussing I slept all my kids in the same rooms and wiped up the sticky messes that were on the floor counters and table and remedied what we could. Their maintenance already bothered us once by mowing the lawn and the lawn next door for what seemed like hours with an EXTREMELY loud mower during nap time! Will not be renting from this company again and AGAIN am not looking to get any money back as the company ONLY seems concerned about making that clear since I did not report the unclean unit upon arriving but I simply wanted to let them know they should be keeping their units a lot more clean and their house keepers shouldn’t just rush through and do bare minimum it’s disgusting…. Maybe because they have lots of partiers rent these they don’t care that they are staying in a filthy home but for families it’s not okay! This company was more concerned about the money then the customer satisfaction šŸ˜… and started gaslighting and questioning me! ā€œWhy didn’t youā€ you should have etc…. Side note*** We enjoyed the area very much so and this disgusting unit did not keep us from having a good time!! It’s a beautiful area with lots to do!

The house was perfect for our 12 adult group/6 couples. There was an extra bedroom and loft area. The house is well-equipped in the kitchen and bedding/bathroom areas. You could pretty much bring food and drink and be set. There were some trash bags provided, but 12 people generate a lot of trash, and you might want more, especially with a full 22 people. We also did paper plates, which adds to the trash. Hot tub was great. Easily fit 6. The fire pit was amazingly low smoke to no smoke, no smell. It was large and we burned a ton of wood outside. There are four bench seats at the fire pit, comfortably seating 12. Add your own chairs as needed. The decks are nice, two tables, a few Adirondack chairs, and a covered portion to shelter from the rain. We had 5 cars, could fit a few more. There were a bunch of TVs mounted on walls. We played a nice tournament on the pool table. They could use some new cue sticks, we shared one (maybe my only non positive comment). Our crew of 12 sat at one big dinner table for a nice sit down formal dinner. There was plenty of space to spread out in the living areas. We did not intend on using the lake, so no comment there, besides the many local establishments right on the water. We did visit one of them and took some lakeside photos. Again, compare 12-20 people with your own kitchen, and we actually had enough fridge room for food, but we were too much for the ice/freezer. So, pick up a bag of ice and bring a cooler if you like ā€˜em cold. Not a complaint. There were 2 double sided gas fireplaces on the main level. Washer and dryer. AC and heat were both used for our stay and kept us comfy. We even had some local deer visiting in the morning looking for scraps. They were not afraid of people at all. There is wildlife, so put trash in the trash shed. We had a great time in a well sized well equipped very clean home. If I could, I’d go back next week!
