So, here is a review from someone who actually went there. This was....what I would call as Soft Opening. First of all, the parking lot is a mile away from the entrance, making handicap parking useless. The sidewalks are extremely narrow and the drop off from the concrete to ground is rather high, which was dangerous. Other than the main area at the front of the park had sitting area and bathrooms. There is also covered pavillion with lockers but no where to sit to put ur clothing or shoes on. There is a laughable enclosure for 4 or 5 small alligators and right next to it are some bathrooms, 4 individual toilets with narrow walkways, portapotties would be better. This pre opening should have never happened, there were so many areas that were unsafe for people to be walking and areas of the lake with inflatable slides was not enclosed to keep people from entering it from other sides. Thank goodness it was free, I would have demanded a refund. Poorly planned and poorly designed. When we arrived there were so many people leaving the park, now after seeing it for ourselves we realized that others must have been as disappointed as we were. The Houston area has been in need of a THEME PARK, AND THIS IS WHAT WE...

The Bayou attractions which appeared the most successful for the day were the zip line and ropes course attractions, Wild Isle, and the Mystic Forest maze. Once Big Rivers opens up and Gator Bayou settles in as secondary, the latter should really be considered as a nice supplement to the former.
Future Fall and Winter Holiday events within Gator Bayou would serve it well.
Big Rivers water park should otherwise be a huge draw next summer, w/ its attractive lineup of pools and slides.
Do note both Big Rivers and Gator Bayou have been frequently mis-represented in local media as the "next Astroworld." - The actual "Grand Texas Theme Park" to contain rides and roller coasters isn't on deck to open for another three years or so.
(This entire development of Grand Texas was announced officially in November of 2013, not in...

Most of the rides are still under construction currently but the attractions they did have set up were cool. Prices are outrageous! Donât be too excited about the âgatorâ exhibit. Bunch of babies at the moment so the kids will enjoy it but we werenât too impressed.
If you visit be prepared to...
