I came in to the store to try to pawn some jewelry and get an estimate of what they would give me a d the value before selling as I was taking my jewelry to multiple places to get the most bang for my buck. I was appalled at the nasty attitude the employees imposed up on me for simply trying to obtain it so that I could make an informed decision before selling. Normal questions about the value, price of gold, etc. A younger woman maybe around 30 years old started telling me the type of diamonds and clarity and then an older woman around 50 said "that's an appraisal and you have to pay for that." She said this AFTER the other woman already OFFERED up this information. I'm sorry, but you're not about to ask me to pay for information that was freely GIVEN without me asking for an appraisal. When I asked how much she would offer on my jewelry the price was SO LOW it was laughable. I got offered 3 TIMES that amount in Indianapolis pawn shops. So I will NEVER take my business here. If you like being treated like dirt and screwed over, this is the place for you! Mind you, I already had FREE appraisals done in Indianapolis on my jewelry. Beware of...
Read moreFirst off. Went in to trade in some silver bars for a 10 oz. bar. They said they’d only take them if I gave them 11 one Oz bars for it. I agreed (my mistake). They then gave me cash for the rest of my silver which was a couple hundred dollars so I decided to get gold. They then gave me a 1/10 Oz of gold which is worth roughly $128 at the time and a half gram of gold for $70. Come to find out the price for a half gram of gold is only $21. I can’t imagine it was out of pure ignorance on their part they didn’t know the value of a half gram of gold. If I did, I wouldn’t have bought it.
Edit: called the same day and complained how they made me pay a 200% premium on a half gram of gold, with some negotiating and reasoning they gave me another half gram. They weren’t too thrilled and neither was I but nevertheless they realized there was a problem and made an effort to fix it and I respect that. Originally I put them down as 1 Star but after the other day I’ll bump them up to 3 star for making an effort to...
Read moreI had my engagement stolen a month ago from my house. After working with the police they found it was sold at Gold Fever. The staff was very professional and I was recover my ring in 3 days. They are honest and follow the Indiana state rules. Only downside was that if I wanted to appraise my ring to determine the exact value (family heirloom) I would have to pay $40 but yet verbally gave me an appraisal...
