Pho Nguyen – Fantastic Pho & Outstanding Service in Kokomo, Indiana )Moved to the former Choo-Choo Mcgoo's)

If you’re craving authentic, flavorful Vietnamese cuisine, look no further than Pho Nguyen in Kokomo, Indiana. This hidden gem offers some of the best pho I’ve ever had, paired with warm, welcoming service that makes every visit a pleasure.

The star of the menu is, without a doubt, their traditional beef pho. The broth is rich, deeply seasoned, and clearly made with care—perfectly balanced with aromatic herbs and spices. The noodles are always fresh and cooked just right, and the generous portions of tender meat make each bowl a hearty, satisfying meal. Whether you go with rare steak, brisket, or a combination bowl, the flavors are always spot on.

Beyond the pho, the egg rolls, spring rolls, and Vietnam specialties are equally delicious. Every dish is prepared fresh and served with beautiful presentation. You can taste the authenticity and quality in every bite.

What truly sets Pho Nguyen apart, though, is the exceptional service. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely appreciative of their customers. Whether it's your first time or you’re a regular, they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome.

The restaurant is clean, cozy, and has a calm, relaxed vibe—great for solo dining or a family meal.

If you’re in the Kokomo area, Pho Nguyen is an absolute must-try. You’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your next...

I'm so glad my son directed me to this hidden little gem! I'd never tried Vietnamese, but my son had some take out he let me taste....I was instantly hooked! I went the same night, it was that good! The atmosphere is clean, inviting and nicer than I expected being in the old Choo Choo McGoos building. The people at the counter were friendly, inviting, and knowledgeable of all the different menu choices. The portions are generous and made with fresh vegetables, very nice meat portion and home made vermicelli noodles or rice. Adding the hoisen sauce to my bbq chicken bowl blew my mind! THE FLAVORS ARE OFF THE CHAIN!!! For one generous bowl, I paid about $11. I was full, but still had enough for another meal to take home. I NEVER leave reviews, but honestly, I was so impressed with Pho Nguyen I had to! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED- NO...

6pm. 2 customers. Maybe I'm spoiled by higher standards where restaurants compete for customers.

Good way to see if food is properly prepared by Vietnamese tradition is to order "rare beef." Beef should be tender and have a hint of lime juice(it's marinated).. all by itself. Unfortunately that wasn't the case in Pho Nguyen. #1 dish failed. Lime provided on the side doesn't count.

#2 dish came with 1\3 noodles cold = careless. Veggies were warm but we're not tendered from hot oil.

Adding spices on the table just masks missing food preparation.

šŸ‘Service is very quick. Super quick like 10 minutes you get your food quick.

At the end of meal nobody came with my check or asked how my meal was. After 15 minutes I stood up and approached cashier. 🄓

Typical Vietnamese, welcome at the door- but please leave asap.. šŸ˜...

My first time eating pho and my first time using chopsticks. The pho was AMAZING - better than amazing! The broth was incredible and after adding the bean sprouts, jalapeƱos, lime wedges, and Thai basil it was even better. I've been wanting to try pho for years and it was everything I'd hoped for. I'm thrilled to have a Vietnamese restaurant here in Kokomo. We tried the fried wontons and fried egg rolls - both delicious. The wontons were my favorite. And both of the dipping sauces were delicious! I was disappointed that they were out of taro so I had to get the honeydew bubble tea, but it was really good so I was happy. I've had taro tea before, but not the bubble tea. That was so fun and delicious. The black tapioca pearls were like super soft gummy bears in the bottom of my tea. Definitely going back!!!

Got take out and only waited about 15 minutes, sitting outside at a wooden table until a masked server brought us our food. Broth was still hot after half-hour ride home. I'd gotten meatball pho last time and wasn't overly impressed, but the flank steak soup was quite delicious. The key to pho, of course, is a rich broth, and this did not disappoint. Plus, we had enough left over to use for our own creations later on. Veggie add ins were fresh and plentiful as well. All of this for what you'd spend on fast food, but souch better. Wish fish and hot sauce would have been packed in to takeout order, so I'll have to ask next time. And there will be a next time.

I ate my meal so fast that I completely forgot to take photos. This is my favorite restaurant in Kokomo - and I’ve only ever had 1 dish, their large P5 - beef Pho with rare steak and tenderloin. All soups are served with a plate of bean sprouts, Thai basil, jalapeƱo, and limes. The table has other chili oils and sauces to add. I also always order their iced Thai tea with pearls. It is always a 10/10. The restaurant itself is quite small but cozy. The soup is just so good, and is quite large. Attached photo is the only photo I have from during COVID and we ordered take away.
